“Outdoor athlete” : people who recreate in and around this amazing place we call Earth. @freaksofnature___ is the first skincare brand designed specifically with the outdoor athlete in mind.
I’m partnering with Freaks of Nature because I am passionate about how we, as outdoor athletes, think about our future. Skincare is a small step in the broader direction of sustainability – how are we protecting our planet AND our bodies? How can we do the things we love in ways that take care of ourselves AND the world around us? These questions don’t have to be exclusive of each other as we think 5, 10, 20 years ahead.
@freaksofnature___ meets the standards for high quality skin care: dermatologist tested, vegan, fragrance & cruelty free. It is also Reef Safe per the Hawaii Reef Compliant Act, packaged in 100% recycled ocean bound plastics, and contains zero microplastics in of itself.
This brand’s commitment to the planet alongside a quality product makes me confident in supporting their mission. Plus, it really does feel good on the skin 😌

Squeezed in this rad Rumney boulder during @barndoorhostel’s Start-Of-Summer Outdoor Fest 🤗 Still managing wrist/elbow pain but can try hard during shorter sessions. Seeing family, friends, and the New England community was healing too ❤️ More thoughts on this current injury but for now plz enjoy the sports action.

🍋 Meadowlark Lemon Stand (V12) – What a line!! The holds, the movement, the beginning burl and technical top out. Subtlety and a bit of spice. This BP has it all. Last go best go inspired by @prettierfriends’ send earlier in the day 🤩
Cheers to @austinlee1989 for the spots, stoke, and borrowed right shoe @scarpana Instinct Lace Ups; something about that narrow rand did the trick for the heel hook crux. Lesson learned I should just bring my whole Scarpa arsenal out every time.
This boulder suited me pretty well and went down fast (for me, 2 sessions) in that grade range. Now time to return to the projies that don’t suit me quite as well 😅

A bit quiet on the climbing front; taking time to heal my injury and focus on other parts of life. Some of that healing took place last week for @americanalpine’s annual United In Yosemite event 😌 UiY is pretty special; a limited number of spots are given out via lottery. Participants receive free camping, food, clinics, climbing, and extracurricular activities. @americanalpine, in partnership with @yosemiteconservancy and the @nationalparkservice, offer these resources to folks who might otherwise not get the chance to stay in Yosemite. It’s a unique opportunity to experience the Park without logistical barriers. A time to be fully present with your surroundings and the people you’re with, allowing yourself to get lost in the vortex and only have to think about what you’re going to climb that day. This year I hosted a Fireside Chat inviting folks to talk about a variety of topics; the direction of the Club, climbing partner dynamics, and conflict management among them. I romped up some fun classics with @alldayeddie @sharazaia @fosterdoodle_ @quinault. I happily got lost in the time/space Valley Vortex. I’m incredibly proud of the volunteers and @americanalpine staff who pour their energy into making this event happen. It wouldn’t exist without your efforts 💛 Cheers to #UnitedInYosemite’s second year! Can’t wait for the next 🤩 #climbing #yosemite #americanalpineclub

Another shot of The Air Up There & more vibe photos from my second half of Bishop. New boulders, spring blooms, garden parties, Charlie in the Milks, and… Olivia Rodrigo?? 🤍🎶 Always finding excuses to stick around this magical place. But now it’s back to Colorado 🏔️ Stoked for some home routine. See ya later Bish!

Escape The Grid (V10) – Solo session figuring out beta and ‘practice falling’ on every move lol. Felt a little spooky all by myself; luckily @mrkrimps walked up and kindly obliged with a spot 🙏🏼 and I got psyched! Climbing alone is convenient but making new friends at the boulders definitely helps the headspace. @organicclimbing MVP (Most Valuable Pads) @scarpa_world @thenorthface_climb Injury Update: right shoulder impingement is about 85% recovered. Left arm brachioradialus and wrist extensor pain prevent me from board climbing, heavy training, and long gym sessions. I’m not quite ready to go into detail because I’m still figuring out a diagnosis and treatment plan with my @latticetraining coach Ollie, @theclimbingphysio, and Boulder-based @austineinhorn – truly pulling out all the stops to figure out why I can’t pronate for shit 😅 but grateful to be working with experienced, creative coaches. These injuries are interesting because I don’t necessarily feel weaker… just limited by stiffness and aching over time. One thing I’ve learned for sure is that my muscles are compensating after years of imbalance and I’m starting to feel the consequences. I’m stoked to climb as much as my recovery allows but healing is priority for the next few months! Looking forward to more outdoor sessions with lots of rest 😌 #climbing #bouldering #climbinginjuries
@freaksofnature___ is on the market with outdoor athletes in mind. Their sunscreen and moisturizer contain naturally-derived ingredients like vegan shark lipids, vegan spider silks, and red & brown algae extract that work in tandem with our skin microbiome – protection from the elements without harming the elemental environment. Being a true freak of nature means being part of nature. @freaksofnature___ is a great example of efficacy and sustainability in the outdoor space. The sunscreen and moisturizer are out now 👀 My personal favorite is the Daily Defender SPF30 – a 100% mineral sunscreen that absorbs quickly with no residue! ☀️ #freaksofnature
Nina Williams (@sheneenagins) has been pushing the limits in every discipline of climbing there is for a decade . She is also a refreshingly authentic and honest voice that has shared her career during that time.
One of the topics covered in the pod is how Nina has developed an incredible ability to remain calm when the stakes are highest. In this episode we honestly explore the realities behind highballs and soloing. Including how she handled a recent experience when a fun solo turned into an unplanned onsight free solo, 800’ off the deck. 😳
New episode, wherever you get your pods!! #99 Nina Williams — Off Route While Free Soloing, The Ultimate Confidence, Being a Professional on Instagram, and The Medium Is The Message
