For #Artist2Artist I was blessed enough to interview Lumi Tan ( @lumit ) the curatorial director of Luna Luna. As an artist I knew I needed to see these recovered works, but I didn’t realize the emotional impact it would have on me. This clip gives you a sense of how joyful I was as I experienced Luna Luna. In 1987 André Heller got his friends and community of artists together to build a carnival focused on bringing back joy. Much of his inspiration was growing up during World War 2 and feeling like he and his community were unable to experience a childhood. We delve into this and more during the interview.
