As #AANHPIHeritageMonth comes to a close this week, I wanted to join @stopaapihate in their #SpreadAAPILove campaign. My immigrant story is something I’m incredibly proud of. Let’s all continue using our stories to fight for racial justice and equality in every corner of America.
The climate crisis is the single biggest threat facing humanity. Yet Republicans refuse to take action or even acknowledge that it exists — they’d rather cozy up to Big Oil than protect American families. We must take bold, immediate action to save our planet and our people.
Supreme Court Justices weighing in on cases about democracy and the January 6 insurrection must be impartial. Flying flags that push false conspiracies about the 2020 election shows clear biases and conflicts of interest. Justice Alito must recuse himself from these cases.
Americans’ trust in the Supreme Court is at an all time low, and recent scandals have only made it worse. This has to change. It’s time for Congress to pass my bill with @senwarren to impose an enforceable code of conduct on Supreme Court justices.
So great to close out AANHPI Heritage Month with a walking tour of AANHPI-owned small businesses in my district! From bubble tea shops to nail salons to Chinese restaurants, we have so many amazing businesses doing great work in our city, and I’m proud to support them. Our first stop was Night Light Nails, which has been in Seattle for more than 20 years. COVID hit them hard, but they’ve bounced back. I’m proud to be here to help local organizations get connected to SBA resources to get them back on their feet. Next up was Young Tea, where the owner, Caroline, brewed me some delicious traditional Taiwanese tea and told me how they make all of their boba ingredients in house. They use mason jars and reusable straws for sustainability and will soon open a second location in Bellevue! Lastly, we went to Dumpling the Noodle. Sen Mao, the owner and chef, told me his immigrant story and how he originally came here to study engineering. He opened his restaurant two months before COVID started, but a PPP loan helped keep his business open! I’m grateful to have so many amazing AANHPI-owned small businesses in my district, and I’m so proud of the constituents who put their hearts and souls into these staples of our community.

Our @USProgressives Proposition Agenda is a Day 1 agenda for 2025 that is popular, populist, and possible. It aims to empower poor and working people, take on big corporations, and make our democracy work, laying out a path forward for the country. Let’s get it done!
Seawalls are critical to ensuring that our waterfront is resilient to sea level rise and can handle seismic risks. That’s why I’m working to help bring home federal money to replace the Elliott Bay Seawall on the Seattle waterfront!

Democrats have an incredibly impressive record to tout — massive job growth, record student debt cancellation, and the largest ever investment in tackling the climate crisis. But we have so much more to do. Let’s keep fighting for more victories, progress, and results.
If Republicans were serious about fixing our immigration system, they would work with us to expand legal pathways and find workable ways for people to immigrate. But they aren’t. They would rather weaponize the border as a political issue instead of actually getting things done.
Thank you to all of my North Seattle constituents for coming out to my 111th town hall last night! Always great to hear directly from each and every one of you — it’s the best part of the job. I’m so grateful to everyone who came out for your interest, questions, and engagement!

So honored to be in the company of these other AAPI leaders and champions, including Grace Lee Boggs, a personal shero and mentor of mine. Also Fred Korematsu, who has a center named after him in Seattle, and my good friend and colleague @repgracemeng!
Great to tour @portofseattle’s Terminal 86 Grain Facility. I’m working to secure funding to replace the 1960s Switcher Locomotive with a new efficient model to reduce emissions — particularly for Belltown, Magnolia, and Queen Anne — and support our region’s trade capabilities.

I’m proud to have secured $19.6 MILLION in federal funding for projects across our district in the 2024 budget. These dollars will go toward building more homes, combatting the climate crisis, and feeding families in need. I’ll never stop working to bring more money home to our community.
