Proud to be a partner with @POTUS on advancing transformational progressive policies. From canceling student debt for up to 30 million Americans, to forcing Big Pharma to negotiate drug prices, to making the largest-ever investment in the climate crisis, we’re getting stuff done.
President Biden has the most progressive track record and agenda on domestic economic policy that we have seen in a long time. While we will continue to push for policy shifts in areas of disagreement, we will continue to fight for the President’s domestic agenda.
Extreme MAGA Republicans are intent on using our Congressional hearings for political bullying instead of trying to get actual things done. They should be embarrassed about their inability to govern and work for the American people.
A major root cause of migration from Central America, the Caribbean, and Mexico is violence — and more than half of guns used in crimes that are recovered in these areas are sourced from the US. Yet Republicans refuse to support common sense laws to stem this flow of firearms.
Today, we held an oversight hearing of the Justice Department. But instead of discussing how to keep our country safe or protect civil rights, Republicans used this time to essentially turn the committee into a legislative arm of the Trump campaign. It’s despicable.
Here’s the thing about MAGA Republicans’ noncitizen voting claims: they’re LYING. Noncitizen voting in federal elections isn’t a real issue — it’s already illegal and incredibly uncommon. Republicans are just stoking fear to distract you from the fact that they can’t deliver.
Democrats and FTC Chair Lina Khan have worked hard to rein in big corporations and put American workers first, pushing through a number of rules and regulations that will increase wages and lower costs. We will always stand up for working families across this country.
Today’s executive order on the border is extremely disappointing. Fixing our immigration system means expanding legal pathways and providing the necessary resources, not enforcement-only policies that have failed for decades. Read my full statement at the link in my story.
When we fight hate on college campuses, we must fight ALL forms of hate. When we try to protect students and their free speech and ensure their safety, we must do so for ALL students. This must be a guarantee made to everyone, no matter their religion, ethnicity, or beliefs.
Pride Month is a time to celebrate all of the incredible LGBTQIA people across this country and continue the fight for full equality, so that EVERYONE can live their full lives as their true, authentic selves. Happy Pride!!! 🏳️🌈
I’m so proud of our @USProgressives 2025 Proposition Agenda — a day one platform to deliver bold change for millions of working families. Our agenda items are popular across the spectrum, with support coming from Democrats, Independents, & even Republicans. Let’s get this done!
So great to meet @thatbrowngirlcooks and eat at the amazing @communionseattle ! The food was scrumptious! We are so proud to be the home city for this talented James Beard Best Chef nominee for 2024. We’ve got our fingers crossed for you! Shout out also to the lovely Damon who welcomed us in tonight and to our server Allie who took good care of us. 🙏🏾💕
So great to close out AANHPI Heritage Month with a walking tour of AANHPI-owned small businesses in my district! From bubble tea shops to nail salons to Chinese restaurants, we have so many amazing businesses doing great work in our city, and I’m proud to support them. Our first stop was Night Light Nails, which has been in Seattle for more than 20 years. COVID hit them hard, but they’ve bounced back. I’m proud to be here to help local organizations get connected to SBA resources to get them back on their feet. Next up was Young Tea, where the owner, Caroline, brewed me some delicious traditional Taiwanese tea and told me how they make all of their boba ingredients in house. They use mason jars and reusable straws for sustainability and will soon open a second location in Bellevue! Lastly, we went to Dumpling the Noodle. Sen Mao, the owner and chef, told me his immigrant story and how he originally came here to study engineering. He opened his restaurant two months before COVID started, but a PPP loan helped keep his business open! I’m grateful to have so many amazing AANHPI-owned small businesses in my district, and I’m so proud of the constituents who put their hearts and souls into these staples of our community.

REMINDER: 80% of House Republicans and 100% of their leadership endorsed a nationwide abortion ban. But now they’re trying to backtrack — don’t believe them. Democrats will continue fighting to expand and codify abortion access for every single American.
MAGA Republicans want harsh, enforcement-only policies that have failed for 30 years and only serve to demonize immigrants. Democrats can’t fold to these unworkable demands. We need real, humane solutions that expand legal pathways and recognize how vital immigrants are to America.
It is unthinkable and outrageous that in the richest country in the world, 23 million Americans owe $220 billion in medical debt as insurance companies raise costs and bring in record profits. That’s why I’m an original cosponsor of legislation to cancel ALL medical debt.
The @USProgressives Proposition Agenda is a day one plan to lower costs, raise wages, save our planet, go after big corporations, and more. We’re pushing to use our governing power for those who need it most — America’s poor and working families.
The data is incredibly clear: immigrants are an enormous benefit to our country and our economy. They deserve to be here, in the United States, where we can all work together to push America forward and make it a better place.
It’s simple: the U.S. government has both a legal and moral obligation to protect children in its custody. That’s why I introduced my PROKID Act to create an independent oversight body to monitor the care of all children in the immigration system, increasing transparency and accountability.
Democrats have accomplished so much in @POTUS’ first term — the largest ever climate investment, lowered prescription drug costs, and record job growth. But there’s more to do. @USProgressives are leading the way with our proposition agenda that is popular, populist, and possible.
AANHPI Heritage Month is a time to celebrate our communities and all the contributions we have made to this country! As the first South Asian woman ever elected to Congress, I’m so grateful for the opportunity to fight for our priorities and equality every single day.
Housing is a human right, and every single person deserves a safe place to call home. That’s why I worked hard to secure more than $7.5 MILLION in federal funding to build new affordable housing and emergency shelters across our district through the 2024 budget.
