Once upon a time, long, long ago. Actually, back in 2015 my cousin, Robin Lee asked me if she could write about me being an artist @thejoannagarelart , in a novel she had been working on.
I had just started painting my new contemporary pieces of art – depicting the Southern California lifestyle, in landscapes with dotted skies inspired by the works of pop artist Roy Lichtenstein.
I was honored and of course I said, “Yes, please!”
Well, that little book, THE IDEA OF YOU has now become a worldwide best seller AND Amazon just made it into a HIT movie starring, Anne Hathaway!
[ I wish I played my character, as an artist, in the movie – unfortunately, they cut my character out.
Ah, Hollywood.]
What a coincidence that I would open my very own art gallery @garelfineart , like the heroine in the book, just as the movie, IDEA OF YOU released.
Foreshadowing my journey, In the book, Robinne actually described my gallery’s opening night to a tee. If you’ve read the book and attended our grand opening let me know if you agree.
