Sara Bareilles Instagram – I realize that I don’t need an award to want to say thank you for this experience. I loved every second. Though “thank you” feels so small next to the Universe that I have received from working in the theater. In friends and collaborators and fiancés (I love you so much my Joey) but most of all it is the place I feel the most like myself. I am so grateful…I keep saying I feel like I snuck into the cool kids party and I just dont want anyone to kick me out. Please let me stay. Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine wrote a perfect piece about our humanity, and trying to hold on to in the face of grave danger. We live in a time where our humanity is being digitized and run through algorithms and manipulated and bought and sold back to us. I am so proud to be a part of a community that makes pieces of art that are one of a kind, one at a time, day after day, in order to tell the stories of the beautiful ache of being alive. Thank you to the entire Into The Woods family, Jordan, Lear, Rob, and our unbelievable cast. I love you deeply. I am so glad I got to go on this journey at all. Thank you to my incredible team who always says yes. Do it. Thank you to my family who lifts me and loves me and also lets me be who I am and say bad words. But mostly thank you to all the theater makers of the world for creating the most beautifully human place I have ever known.
