We somehow found our way back to Hawaii… after hitching a ride on the aloha train with @leannerichele last year in Oahu and @theerincardillo in Maui new years, I thought it was my turn to return the favor in Kauai (thank you dad, for your unused timeshare). Thank you to this beautiful island for the majesty and mystery. Thank you @leannerichele @theerincardillo for putting up with my nervous system reset and being the greatest, most patient adventure partners imaginable. We may have missed the eclipse, but we did discover a wealth of rainbows and contemplated the fact that it might just all work out. 🌈💫🪄

Happy Earth Day 💚 • • • When was the last time you put your feet on the earth? Or rolled around in the mud? Or jumped in a lake? I managed to fall in the mud myself today on the edge of a river and cleaned myself off in the grass and remembered how good it used to feel as a kid to just get dirty and not care and run barefoot in the grass…. I have been feeling heavy with all that is happening in the world these days – and to this earth in particular. And while just earthing in the grass fails to solve the magnitude of issues that we must collectively address, seeing clover growing lifted my spirits. Native landscaping is one simple way to help bring the planet back into balance, feeding the bees who can’t survive on the cloverless grass sold to the American dream of the 1950s is one little little step we can take towards living in harmony with nature as she intended. And lots of one-little-steps make a difference. Mostly this is just a thank you to the earth for all she offers. And a prayer for greater reciprocity. Every day. Cause every day is Earth Day. #happyearthday
Lately, I’ve just wanted to rest. All day. Every day. And just be with those roses that call me to smell them. Some kind of nervous system response, perhaps, to a nonstop existence. Yes, I buy into it all and traipse about the earth adding to the nonstop nature. And the more I move, the more I discover that what calls is nature itself. Begging me to just admire her beauty. Take a breath and absorb it all. Recognize she is worth noticing and protecting. Yes, Kauai is a particularly profound paradise; but the beauty of a flower bud can be almost as curative as the majesty of these mountains. It is this earth that restores. For me, at least. It fills my soul and replenishes my body. And now… back to my regularly scheduled programming of busy. Just celebrating a moment in a happy, calming place first.
