When it comes to cramps and/or bloating, water-based foods can help with hydration including lettuce, berries (strawberries, blueberries) celery, cucumber and watermelon. Drinking a lot of water, warm or hot, also helps relax the uterine muscles.

Research also shows that LGBTQ youth have a limited number of trusted adults they feel comfortable talking with about sexual health, which means they have to find reliable information online or from peers. Young people need to empower themselves to help make a cultural shift in sexual societal norms. They must rewrite the traditional “rules” that have, for so long, neglected the sexual needs of women and the LGBTQ community.
