As we all close the book on another year, I always reflect on the year we’ve lived… ❤️
Having toured the country, visited the US, judged beautiful dancers, made memories with my mother and celebrated her 86th birthday … how blessed I feel, nervously took on my Skyathlon for @calmzone to remember those we all lost and in memory of my beautiful brother David, gratefully returned to @bbcstrictly for my 7th series, become a grandma to dearest Banksi who I got to spend precious glam ma times with, published a book, collected the @radiotimes awards for @bbcstrictly, met so many beautiful fans who have been so kind to me, visited @battersea, supported @suicideandco @britishairways @alderhey and so many other fantastic organisations and enjoyed precious time with those I love, I say gratitude to each and every person who has graced my path this last year. Thank you to you all for making this year truly beautiful in many ways. It’s been one of the most memorable and the support has been truly overwhelming.
As 2024 approaches, remember to take love, family, friends and health with you by your side. Health is our wealth and family is our support. Surround yourself with love and remember yesterday is a memory, tomorrow is filled with uncertainty, but today is a gift.

Dearest Ferdi and Yulia, I’m sorry I couldn’t be there for your final dance as you retired from competing. An emotional moment of reflection on one of the most beautiful careers ever in the history of dance.
Yulia, I first met you when you were a young teenage girl who had a passion for the art of Latin American dancing, you had a work ethic beyond anything I had come across before. I remember the day we first met Ferdi as a future partner who was so gifted and extremely kind. It was a team made in heaven with so much promise. Over the years I witnessed the sacrifices you both made to focus on getting to the very top of the industry. When you have two hearts that beat as one, work ethic and desire to reach your goals how can you loose.
I’ve watched in awe as you both achieved what you set out to achieve. With ups and downs throughout your lives you held on to your dreams and have become two phenomenal dancers in our industry. I’m so so proud of you both. Thank you both for your loyalty and dedication to those around you that have stood by you throughout this journey. My family wish you nothing but the very very best as you move forward on this next part of your life that I’m sure will be filled with so much love. ❤️ you truly are two of the kindest people I have ever met and I’ll carry forward in my life all our beautiful memories, the laughter and the tears. David, I miss you so very very much. Behind my smile is still a broken heart that I don’t think will ever repair. But our darling mum, @markballas and @mischiefminky talk about you every single day. Your beautiful daughter Mary is doing amazingly well. We know you’re looking down on her feeling so proud. She’s engaged now to a phenomenally kind man, I know you would love him. Mark is a dad, Mum is now a great grandmother and I’m a grandma. Can you believe it ? Banksi is beautiful and I know you’d just adore him. I’m remembering all the times you took care of Mark for me whilst I travelled. You cared about him with so so much love in your heart. You will always be in our thoughts David. I feel you are with me each and every day and I believe you’re watching over us with that beautiful heart of yours.

I had never been so scared being strapped onto the line, sitting in the seat onto of the plane and feeling that push out of the plane door. However, hearing and reading your stories of how the charity has supported you has only spured me on to help even more.

The United Kingdom Open to the World Dance Festival 2024 🔥 … one of the most fair and trusted events of all time. How extraordinary it has been to witness two outstanding days of phenomenal dancing here at the BIC centre in Bournemouth.
I was honoured to be able to judge the United Kingdom Open to the World Amateur Latin American Championships. The standard of dancing was absolutely off the chart. The very best the world has to offer with couples entering from every part of the globe. Blood sweat and tears has gone into every step they take.
The stakes are high and both days were filled with glorious talent, a huge amount of passion and extreme competitiveness. Thank you to @robinshort1 @ritann10 and son Christopher for organising one of the most prestigious events in our calendar.
Congratulations to all who stepped on the floor and a huge well done to those who made the final six and got to walk down the famous blue stairs. Please take away the beautiful memories and treasure them forever. I’m so proud of each and every person who took part in these competitions and grateful to part of the World of ballroom dancing. Xxx
