Somkele Iyamah Idhalama Instagram – I grew up loving and admiring expression through thread, film and music. I was a lover of music where my father and I bonded…👼. My mother had a boutique and a hair salon where we bonded over everything style 👗. And then there was picture in motion that came in university, 2nd year, like a lightbulb moment that I couldn’t shake off. I knew I wanted something to do with that world but didn’t know quite how.
Fast forward to now. @andreaiyamah is a brain and heart child of my 🌟 @andrea.oi so naturally, I had vested interest in seeing it succeed because I wanted her to succeed. I’ve always felt personally responsible for her like I birthed her but she’s a woman woman now lol. What I didn’t know in caring about and for her hearts desire is that mine would be fulfilled in the process.
In this video I saw all my passions come together. From the product design to the media production, I get the opportunity to thrive in my work. But it went beyond wanting it to succeed because of my sister but because of my the different hands you see at work making this engine come together.
@andreaiyamah as you launch another breathtaking collection, do the magic you do in making people believe in something intangible and liberating. I love each and every one of you. Thank you for oiling this wheel. And just as I have found joy in oiling another, may you find yourselves salved from top to bottom, lacking no good thing.
