When I was in the midst of Mean Girls on Broadway, I was overwhelmed by the positive attention from the show and wanted to use it for good —especially playing the villain. I called my friend, @brauhala and we brainstormed about where our tools might crossroads with a need in the industry. We created a google form, marketed through our social channels, and to our surprise, got 500 song submissions for our Musical Theatre Songwriting Competition! Now, after two years & a global pandemic we are officially a nonprofit! We welcomed a good one into the Armstrong family (my mom’s side) this weekend: @emearmstrong. And we got to celebrate on Grandpa’s farm! (Thanks to her new hubby/my cousin @m_armstrong00 for helping take good care of it these days). Weddings can too easily become ostentatious, but this one knew it’s purpose: bringing people together to celebrate LOVE. Grandma was delighted to have nearly all 50 of her “loved ones” in one place (giant family photo later) & Grandpa was proud to host it on the land he’s poured his 🤍 into. #family
