Taylor Louderman Instagram – As some of you may know, my little sister, Madison has been living with type 1 diabetes since she was 8. It’s an auto-immune disease that keeps her body from producing insulin on its own. So she has to give herself insulin basically every time she eats! It can be terrifying when her blood sugar gets too low. I remember one time when we were little, she was so low she started having a seizure. My mom frantically grabbed a glucagon injection we had at the time, started prepping it, but was shaking and sliced her finger trying to mix the vials. So, I’m really happy to share that there is now a rescue pen on the market called Gvoke HypoPen® (glucagon injection) where you don’t have to mix any vials!

Gvoke HypoPen® is a ready-to-use rescue pen for severe low blood sugar emergencies that:
– Anyone can administer in two simple steps
– No visible needle
– No refrigeration needed; Store at temperatures between 68°F and 77°F
– Eligible commercially insured patients may pay as little as $25 with a copay card!

I hope this #ad helps anyone and their loved ones dealing with severe low blood sugar events. It certainly helps our family feel more at ease.

GVOKE is a prescription medicine used to treat very low blood sugar (severe hypoglycemia) in adults and kids with diabetes ages 2 years and above. It is not known if GVOKE is safe and effective in children under 2 years of age.

Do not use GVOKE if: you have a tumor in the gland on top of your kidneys (adrenal gland) called a pheochromocytoma, as it may cause a substantial increase in blood pressure; you have a tumor in your pancreas called an insulinoma, as it may cause low blood sugar; or if you are allergic to glucagon or any inactive ingredient in GVOKE.

GVOKE may cause other serious side effects, such as: Serious skin rash — GVOKE can cause a serious skin rash in certain people with a tumor in their pancreas called a glucagonoma; Serious allergic reactions — Call your doctor or get medical help right away if you have a serious allergic reaction including rash, difficulty breathing, low blood pressure.
