In honor of Military Spouse Appreciation Day, we recognize the importance of supportive military spouses and how much they sacrifice for our country. To all our military spouses across the Commonwealth, thank you for your service!
Today, the General Assembly passed and Governor @glennyoungkin signed the biennium budget. This budget is the product of a great deal of compromise – it doesn’t include any new taxes, removed Virginia from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative which would have added extreme costs to vehicles sold in Virginia, and set aside $75 million for lab schools for our children.
Furthermore, this budget includes funding for transportation initiatives across the Commonwealth, such as I-81, and an additional 3% salary increase for teachers in both FY2025 and FY2026, in addition to the 12% wage increase that has been enacted since the start of our Administration.
Thank you, General Assembly members, for coming together to work with the Governor to pass a budget that works for Virginia.
Today, on the 80th anniversary of D-Day, we honor the brave soldiers who fought for the cause of liberty. Last year, I visited Bedford, VA, the hometown of 44 of the soldiers who were at Normandy on June 6, 1944. Twenty of the “Bedford Boys” gave their lives that day. We honor and remember them.
On Saturday, I was honored to deliver the Commencement Address at Ferrum College. Congratulations to the students who graduated this past weekend! Strive for greatness because as someone once said: “Don’t tell me the sky is the limit when there are bootprints on the moon.”

Today is Fentanyl Awareness Day.
Five Virginians die every day from fentanyl overdoses. This Administration will continue to lead the way in efforts to reduce opioid overdoses and transform behavioral health in Virginia.
