Fun morning today at Balmoral beach jetty for the release of 200 White Seahorses bred in captivity by @syd_marine_science The white seahorse is one of only two seahorses on the endangered list so it’s great to have such important conservation work happening locally.

The damage being done to Australia’s economic prosperity, environment and our health and wellbeing will progressively worsen for our children and future generations without essential climate action and leadership. Australian legislation is currently inadequate in addressing the human rights implication of climate change for future generations, and risks further increasing generational inequity. Strong climate targets are important to mitigate the impacts of climate change and without this, the cost of living will continue to increase as climate risks escalate. It’s irresponsible and negligent of a major party to not have a policy that addresses such a major community challenge. It was a beautiful morning this week, releasing the latest batch baby White’s Seahorses into their new hotels amongst the seagrass at Balmoral. White’s seahorses are currently listed as an endangered species & the @sydney_seahorse_project and @projectrestoreau are working hard to restore seagrass and increase seahorse populations. In the meantime, the team has built little underwater seahorse “hotels” where the baby seahorses can stay whilst their habitat is being restored. To learn more visit @syd_marine_science

The Local Sporting Champions program (ages 12-18) and The Local Para Champions program (12-24) provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors participating in state, national or international championships.
