I want to thank you all for your beautiful, caring wishes for my speedy recovery. Everything went really well. My healing is on track and I’m feeling better every day. Bonnie Raitt Instagram - For Valentine’s Day, we thought we’d share a little flashback heat and fun with Bonnie and @dennisquaid flirting in her first video/hit single from Nick of Time, back in ’89 for @john_hiatt_music’s rockin’ “Thing Called Love.” Nothin’ like a good blues shuffle to get the gears back up and working 🔥 Enjoy!

Bonnie Raitt Instagram - Bonnie has a medical situation that requires surgery to address. The doctors say that in order for her to heal properly, they recommend she not perform for a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, this overlaps our five tour dates in May, and we are very sorry to have to cancel our performance at @brandicarlilesmothershipwkd on May 14th and postpone our shows in Athens, Louisville, Indianapolis and Pittsburgh. Please see below for more information about the rescheduled appearances.

We deeply apologize for this delay and inconvenience. It's always upsetting to have to disappoint her fans, band, crew and our promoters, but sometimes unforeseen things just happen. Thankfully, Bonnie’s in great hands. She was so looking forward to these shows, but we’re excited to be able to resume our 2023 tour, now kicking off in Dublin, Ireland, June 1st.

Thank you for your well wishes and understanding, and we very much appreciate your respecting her request for privacy at this healing time.

RESCHEDULED DATES:
* Athens, GA - rescheduled date TBD 2024
* Louisville, KY - rescheduled for June 30, 2023
* Indianapolis, IN - rescheduled for July 1, 2023
* Pittsburgh, PA - rescheduled date TBD 2024

Please hold onto your tickets; they will be valid for the rescheduled show date and additional information will be coming from your point of purchase.

Bonnie Raitt Instagram - With great sadness, we mark the passing of one of the most important people in our activist musicians community, Tom Campbell. For over 50 years, Tom and his wonderful team at Avocado Productions and The Guacamole Fund have organized and produced over 1200 benefit concerts, rallies and receptions for a wide range of wonderful issues from No Nukes, to environmental protection and justice, women’s, human and Native American rights and peace. There is no one who has done more to raise funds and awareness than Tom. I’ve included a link to his obit here so you can appreciate in detail his amazing life and contributions. He was a dear friend and I’ll miss and be grateful for him always.

Our sincere condolences go out to his wife Smoky, son Grady and all the family. — Bonnie

Bonnie Raitt Instagram - Bonnie’s “breakthrough” album Nick of Time was released 35 years ago! One of our favorite grooves, “Love Letter,” (written by @superbon54) was the second single from the album and has been a staple of Bonnie’s live set ever since. In fact, Bonnie played @thelyricbaltimore Opera House (as it was known then) in Baltimore on June 6, 1989 on the ‘Nick of Time’ Tour and just played the same venue last night to kick off the second leg of her spring ‘Just Like That...” Tour (with Special Guest @jameshuntersix.) @billboard did a wonderful oral history on Nick of Time five years ago and if you’re interested in the genesis of the album, interviews with Bonnie and her collaborators and insight into the climate of the music industry at that time, you can read more at the link in bio. —BRHQ
Bonnie Raitt Instagram - 18 years ago today, Bonnie’s album Souls Alike was released! Here is a clip from her performance with the band of “I Will Not Be Broken” on Late Show with @letterman . The song was written by Gordon Kennedy, Wayne Kirkpatrick and Tommy Sims and the track was nominated for a @recordingacademy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

Bonnie’s two-year long Souls Alike Tour spanned an epic 165 concert dates including a fabulous summer tour in 2006 with her friend, the incredible Keb’Mo’!

Bonnie Raitt Instagram - Just Like That… the four-time GRAMMY®-nominated, 21st album from Bonnie Raitt is available now!

The 10-track album’s title comes from a line in one of her new original songs (“Just like that, your life can change,”) that has been nominated for "Song of the Year" at the 2023 GRAMMY® Awards. The album features 4 original songs, along with several tracks Bonnie has wanted to record for years, including covers of songs by @thebroslandreth and @tootsmaytalsofficial.
“On this record, I wanted to stretch,” she says. “I always want to find songs that excite me, and what’s different this time is that I’ve tried some styles and topics I haven’t touched on before.”

Bonnie Raitt Instagram - Wishing my dear big sister, @mavisstaples, a very Happy Birthday today! Can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by sharing her strong and steady message of love, respect, justice and equality so powerfully espoused in this performance of her song, “Turn Me Around.” It’s as relevant a clarion call today as it was when she and Pops and the Staples Singers sang it during the Civil Rights movement of the 1960’s. This performance, with Bonnie joining in, is from her tribute concert, “Mavis Staples: I’ll Take You There” filmed in Chicago on November 16, 2014.

Safe travels to you, dear heart, and the band and crew during your tour this summer and fall. Miss you and love you so much! 84 looks good on you, baby—keep it up! Happy Birthday! -Bonnie, your baby sis.

Bonnie Raitt Instagram - Remembering my Dad on his birthday and wanted to share one of my favorite clips of him in his honor. We are so lucky to have these great performances available to remember him by. This was from when he was 65…in 1982, singing the song he made famous in his debut on Broadway, Carousel..back in 1945. So grateful to have had him in my life, all our lives... And for all the inspiration, lessons and genes too. Watch the full performance at the link in bio.

Love you, Dad.

Bonnie Raitt Instagram - I’m so heartbroken for the many thousands of people in Los Angeles who have suffered the loss of their homes, schools, businesses and entire communities. I was raised in LA, spent 2 decades of my adult life there and our family spent most of our family reunions and holidays visiting my Dad, where he lived in the Palisades the last 30 years of his life. It is truly unimaginable what people are going through and the amount of massive help and nearly “Marshall Plan” level of assistance they are going to need for decades. My heart and prayers and support go out to all those impacted and my deepest gratitude and support for all the firefighters, relief and care workers as well as kind and generous Angelenos who have so valiantly stepped in to help.

If you can and would like to join me, here are several wonderful organizations I’m making some initial donations to. Thank you and please keep your prayers and support coming in, however you are able. — Bonnie

Bonnie Raitt Instagram - One year ago today, Bonnie released ”Livin’ For the Ones,” her third single off the ‘Just Like That...’ album.
Inspired by the tremendous loss and grief of the last few years, ”Livin’ For the Ones” is a call to help us move through tough times with renewed perspective and gratitude: to “keep livin’ for the ones who didn’t make it.” With Bonnie’s lyrics and music by her longtime friend and guitarist, @georgemarinelli, this rockin’ anthem to perseverance continues to resonate with so many.

Bonnie’s tour continues on to Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis and wraps up Austin with her taping @acltv Oct 15th.

She and the band thank all our Canadian fans for giving them such a warm welcome back. Thanks to our bass player, James "Hutch" Hutchinson (@brbassman) for this great shot from the stage in Winnipeg. Head to the link in bio to read the wonderful concert review in the @winnipegfreepress. — BRHQ
Bonnie Raitt Instagram - "Early on in her career, Bonnie Raitt decided that live shows were more important to her than records. She wanted to get out and reach people directly, without having to rely on hype, promotion and hustle. In the time since, she's done a lot of traveling, but though she still says she'd never want a hit record, the release of her third album may be the one that makes her a 'star.' "

In the time since, she's done a lot of traveling, but though she still says she'd never want a hit record, the release of her third album may be the one that makes her a 'star.' "

Bonnie Raitt Instagram - In celebration of the band’s 50th Anniversary, The Fabulous Thunderbirds have just released Struck Down, their first studio album in eight years on Stony Plain Records. The ten-track album includes a wonderful cover of Memphis Minnie’s “Nothing in Rambling,” featuring longtime friends, T-Birds founding member Kim Wilson, along with Bonnie, Keb’ Mo’, Taj Mahal and Mick Fleetwood.

Bonnie and the band go way back, playing live together often over the decades. Bonnie invited Kim to be one of her special guests on ROAD TESTED, her 1995 live album/concert film. Here’s a clip of their rockin’ duet of Kim’s T-Birds hit, “I Believe I’m In Love With You,” from that show, which has been a highlight of Bonnie’s concerts for years. — BRHQ

Bonnie Raitt Instagram - I’m deeply sorry to mark the passing of my friend, Dick Waterman, who made such a huge impact on the lives and careers of so many great blues artists, championing them as people as much as their music, booking and managing them with great care, integrity and skill. He gave me my start as well, going on to book and represent me for 15 years. He was also a renowned photographer who published a book and his wonderful photographs of some of our most legendary roots artists... He was an incredible storyteller, popular columnist in the local Oxford (Mississippi) Eagle and packed a great deal into his 88 years. We are so sorry to lose him and I am deeply grateful for the gifts he gave me and the life he lived. My sincere condolences go to his wife Cinda and all his family.

Dick published a book of rare photographs and personal recollections called “Between Midnight and Day: The Last Unpublished Blues Archive” in 2003. While the book itself is out of print, you can read an excerpt (at the link in bio) from the preface I was honored to contribute.

To learn more about his life, you can check out his biography, “Dick Waterman: A Life In Blues” written by Tammy L. Turner at the link in bio.

Bonnie Raitt Instagram - This weekend we celebrated the one year anniversary of the release of “Made Up Mind,” our first single from ‘Just Like That…’ We thought we’d share a video clip of a special workshop version of the song by its creators, @thebroslandreth, and tag it into my own official performance video of the song for you to enjoy.

We’ve been so knocked out by the response the single got from the first day of its release, zooming to the top off the Americana charts and staying there for 6 weeks last spring. And then to have it pick up the GRAMMY® for Best Americana Performance at this month’s @recordingacademy GRAMMY® Awards was the icing on the cake. I can’t thank Joey, Dave, their co-writer @jonathansingletonmusic and all the Bros. enough for creating such a killer tune that helped launch our album in such a soulful and monumental way.

I can’t wait to play on the same bill with them in a couple weeks at the legendary @bluesfestbyronbay in Australia in April. If you haven’t checked them out, I can’t recommend their albums and live shows more highly. To check out TBL’s full workshop video for “Made Up Mind,” visit the link in bio.

Here’s what I wrote about how I got connected to the song:
I first met the Bros. Landreth after being knocked out by their opening set at the Winnipeg Folk Festival in 2014. Reminded me of @littlefeat_official and @the_band_official_ — great songs, singing, and killer playing. Already a favorite in their native Canada, I knew I had to cut “Made Up Mind” the first time I heard it on @thejunoawards-winning album, Let it Lie. It has my favorite combo of soulful groove, strong melody and lyrics, and, what I love the most, Joey’s killer blues guitar. Couldn’t wait to do our own take and I’m really happy with how it turned out.
Bonnie Raitt Instagram - I’m crushed beyond words losing our beloved David Lindley. His brilliance, humor, kindness and total uniqueness will shine forever. RIP, dear friend. Thank you for the gift you will always be. My deep condolences to Joanie, Roseanne and all the family. -- Bonnie

Bonnie Raitt Instagram - I’m heartbroken at the loss of one of my dearest friends, Spider John Koerner, who passed away last Saturday at 85 in Minneapolis, surrounded by his family.

We’ve been close friends since we met in ‘69, hung out in Cambridge in the early 70’s and in all the decades since. John, along with Snaker Dave Ray and Tony Little Sun Glover, comprised one of the greatest and most influential blues groups from the mid-Sixties. From the first time I heard their seminal ‘Blues, Rags and Hollers’ album, I’ve been completely under his spell. He was funny, talented, mischievous, always curious —loved life, good music, watching stars and a high time with friends. Between his incredibly unique, funky, rhythmic guitar playing and singing, his great original songs and the hilarious, long-winding stories he’d weave into his sets, there was simply no one like him.

Through their terrific album together, ‘Running, Jumping, Standing Still,’ I met Willie Murphy, who went on to produce my first album and record one of my favorite song of John’s, “I Ain’t Blue.“

We got to enjoy a lifetime of fun, great music and meaning. John will be remembered as one of the most beloved and important revivalists of the great folk and blues song tradition.

My deep condolences to his family and we will remember and treasure him and his wonderful music always.

Bonnie Raitt Instagram - Rest in peace, dear @itstonybennett. One of the greatest singers of all time, and one of the warmest, most joyful and evolved people I’ve ever known. One of the honors of my lifetime was getting to duet with him on his Bennett Sings the Blues album back in 2001. My love and sympathy go out to his family and don’t we know there’ll be some swingin’ on high when Tony passes through those gates.

Bonnie Raitt Instagram - With so much holiday music lifting our spirits this season, I wanted to share this version of Charles Brown and I singing his iconic “Merry Christmas, Baby” which we recorded in 1992 for the wonderful ‘A Very Special Christmas, Vol. 2’ benefit compilation series for the @specialolympics. We were so honored to feature Charles on our Nick of Time national tour in 1990 and along with fellow R&B legend, Ruth Brown, our very special guests on our Road Tested national tour in 1995. Charles was and will remain one of the greatest artists I’ve known, as well as a dear friend. So glad to celebrate him this Holiday with his classic song, which has brought so much joy since it was a big R&B hit for him back in 1947 (1948 and 1949!)

Visit the link in bio to add “Merry Christmas, Baby” to all of your holiday playlists and put that good music on your “radio.” 😉

Thanks and happy holidays!

Bonnie Raitt Instagram - @bonnieraittofficial grew up surrounded by music — and she turned her hobby into a brilliant career, winning 13 Grammys, being inducted into @rockhall and now, becoming a @kennedycenter honoree.

She told @gayleking about her lifelong connection to music: “I just want to be as much able to make as big of a difference in the world as I can.”
Bonnie Raitt Instagram - We wanted to share another Raitt family gem, holiday card, this one from the next year, 1955. As my Dad was then starring in the hit musical, The Pajama Game, on Broadway, where he created the lead role, Sid Sorokin, (and then played it again in the movie version with Doris Day.) We were gifted with matching pajamas and my folks thought it would be fun decking us all out in pj’s for our card. “Still in Pajamas” is a reference to the previous year’s card when we were all wearing, you guessed it, matching pajamas! — Bonnie
Bonnie Raitt Instagram - Thanks so much to @jameshuntersix and his terrific band for bringing so much rockin’ soul to our shows on our incredibly successful spring tour. Thanks so much to my band and crew and all our fans as well. We look forward to more wonderful gigs together this fall. - Bonnie

I want to thank you all for your beautiful, caring wishes for my speedy recovery. Everything went really well. My healing is on track and I’m feeling better every day. The band and I can’t wait to get back to playing in a few weeks. I’m so sorry we had to postpone our shows and apologize to those of you who won’t be able to join us for the rescheduled dates. I so appreciate your support and hope you can come see us another time.

Happy early Mother's Day to all the moms, and honoring our grandmas' lineage too! Who’d we be without them? So many thanks.

Very grateful to bring good news,

See you soon!

Bonnie Raitt - 11K Likes - Bonnie has a medical situation that requires surgery to address.

* Louisville, KY - rescheduled for June 30, 2023
* Indianapolis, IN - rescheduled for July 1, 2023
* Pittsburgh, PA - rescheduled date TBD 2024

Please hold onto your tickets; they will be valid for the rescheduled show date and additional information will be coming from your point of purchase.

—BRHQ

Bonnie Raitt - 5.3K Likes - I’m so heartbroken for the many thousands of people in Los Angeles who have suffered the loss of their homes, schools, businesses and entire communities.

— Bonnie

Bonnie Raitt - 5.1K Likes - One year ago today, Bonnie released ”Livin’ For the Ones,” her third single off the ‘Just Like That...’ album.

Bonnie Raitt - 5K Likes - The Canadian tour has been terrific; great crowds and the band on fire. There’s three shows left, including tonight in Thunder Bay, Ontario on the shores of Lake Superior, then London, Ontario and Toronto on Wednesday. Special Guest @royalwood and his group have delighted the audiences as well.

— BRHQ

Bonnie Raitt - 4.8K Likes - "Early on in her career, Bonnie Raitt decided that live shows were more important to her than records. She wanted to get out and reach people directly, without having to rely on hype, promotion and hustle. In the time since, she's done a lot of traveling, but though she still says she'd never want a hit record, the release of her third album may be the one that makes her a 'star.' "

Bonnie Raitt - 4.6K Likes - In celebration of the band’s 50th Anniversary, The Fabulous Thunderbirds have just released Struck Down, their first studio album in eight years on Stony Plain Records.

— BRHQ

Bonnie Raitt - 4.5K Likes - I’m deeply sorry to mark the passing of my friend, Dick Waterman, who made such a huge impact on the lives and careers of so many great blues artists, championing them as people as much as their music, booking and managing them with great care, integrity and skill.

Bonnie Raitt - 3.6K Likes - This weekend we celebrated the one year anniversary of the release of “Made Up Mind,” our first single from ‘Just Like That…’ We thought we’d share a video clip of a special workshop version of the song by its creators, @thebroslandreth, and tag it into my own official performance video of the song for you to enjoy.

Bonnie Raitt - 3.5K Likes - I’m heartbroken at the loss of one of my dearest friends, Spider John Koerner, who passed away last Saturday at 85 in Minneapolis, surrounded by his family.

Bonnie Raitt - 3.3K Likes - That’s a wrap on the tour for 2023! Bonnie and the band finished up their 50th headlining show of 2023 with a sold out show @acllive at The Moody Theatre in Austin on Saturday night, followed on Sunday by a taping of the iconic @acltv television series that will broadcast on @pbs in the beginning of 2024 (including a special appearance by singer-songwriter, @sunnywarmusic.)

Not quite ready to leave the “Live Music Capital of the World” just yet, Bonnie made a surprise appearance at a special concert at the legendary blues club, @antonesnightclub in Austin, Texas, Monday, October 16. The concert benefiting bassist Sarah Brown, who’s been a beloved figure in the Austin music scene and member of the venue’s house band for the past 40 years, also featured performances by @jimmievaughanofficial, Marcia Ball, @suefoleyofficial, @johnnynicholasblues, Fran Christina, @rosierockabillyfilly, Larry Fulcher, @thetexashorns3, Derek O’Brien and more. Bonnie Raitt - 3.2K Likes - Rest in peace, dear @itstonybennett.

Bonnie Raitt - 3.1K Likes - With so much holiday music lifting our spirits this season, I wanted to share this version of Charles Brown and I singing his iconic “Merry Christmas, Baby” which we recorded in 1992 for the wonderful ‘A Very Special Christmas, Vol.

She told @gayleking about her lifelong connection to music: “I just want to be as much able to make as big of a difference in the world as I can.”

Bonnie Raitt - 2.9K Likes - We wanted to share another Raitt family gem, holiday card, this one from the next year, 1955. — Bonnie
