Clare Waight Keller Instagram - Back in August a young photographer approached me through Instagram about taking a portrait of me for his designer series, however I’m truly not one for this type of thing. Having a portrait taken is usually at the bottom of my list.
But I decided to take a look at Andrew’s work and I really liked what I saw.
It’s all shot on old cameras 35mm film or those pointn’shoot wind on pocket cameras - no way to see the results live as we do all the time today on digital. The other big difference is without all that jumping to look at the monitor to check the images we just chatted, got to know each other a bit.
So of course there is the element of the surprise and reveal when everything is developed.
So here they are - the lovely unfiltered results πŸ–€. Thank you so much @anxxquinn for such a fun morning together in my neighbourhood.

Clare Waight Keller Instagram - I had to save a whole post for the best night in Tokyo and the best rave I’ve been to in years…….thank you πŸ–€ @rickowensonline that was epic

1. Michele Lamy and I talking about her projects,Tokyo, travel and our kids outside Rick’s store at the Nezu museum
Michele in Rick Owens palette donut and boots me in Rick Owens men’s bomber and CWK Givenchy zip dress

2. The Rave entrance in the docklands of Tokyo

3.-9. The crowd - from my viewpoint as a designer -was probably the best i have seen at a fashion event in a very long time. Not only was it incredibly inspiring to see so many devoted fans of Ricks work but it was also that they were true fans, the dedication to their look, the hair (matching grey hair with a grey jacket, punk spikes, acid yellow mullets) the attitude and extraordinary attention to creative personal style that was constantly inspiring and something to be truly admired. These are people who love fashion, love individually, love Rick.
The diversity at this rave was off the charts, every walk of life, people from all corners of the globe even war torn countries, every gender or non gender, people in wheelchairs, inclusivity everywhere.
No judgment.
Just soo good πŸ–€πŸ–€

10. One epic night out -
I think my face says it all.

Clare Waight Keller Instagram - Over the weekend I spent some time looking through the new beautiful book on the House of Givenchy.
It gave me a moment to reflect on my time at this extraordinary Maison and take a look back at my own images from my archives and share them over the next week or two.

Hubert de Givenchy was a man of strength and wisdom, and I will be forever grateful to him for his trust and belief in me. At a time when the globalised fashion industry spins faster and more frenetically than ever before, perhaps we should take a moment to remember his graceful vision. As a designer, what does it mean to interpret the language and legacy of Givenchy for a contemporary audience?
For me, the challenge was to look into the heart of the house - and its creator - and in doing so, find the inspiration to move forwards… because in understanding the past, we can shine a light into the future.

Clare Waight Keller Instagram - The next couture chapter was Caraman - I named this collection after the 19th century townhouse originally built for the Duke of Caraman. This beautiful building became the Haute Couture atelier and salon of Hubert de Givenchy, where it still remains today on Avenue George V.
I think for many people this was one of those shows that really resonated deeply with the story of Givenchy.
It was a moment that really struck a very emotional chord with the audience and my team backstage, particularly as it was so soon after both the Royal Wedding and Hubert’s death.
I had always personally felt that the Givenchy archives were a mystery, rarely seen in public exhibitions nor books despite his extraordinary contributions to fashion in film and the history of fashion in celebrity culture.
I felt a profound connection to his craft as I searched through his legacy to honour his life through this show. I wanted to capture the essence of his work and vision of women through my own lens.
In the images here - the looks hanging in the Couture salon, the show venue in the MusΓ©e de Archives garden in the heart of the Marais on a stunning summer evening, rehearsals in the afternoon before the show with the production team still finishing the set up, whilst I’m listening to the music to set the pace of the models.

Clare Waight Keller - 3.2K Likes - Back in August a young photographer approached me through Instagram about taking a portrait of me for his designer series, however I’m truly not one for this type of thing.

So here they are - the lovely unfiltered results πŸ–€. Thank you so much @anxxquinn for such a fun morning together in my neighbourhood.

Caption : Back in August a young photographer approached me through Instagram about taking a portrait of me for his designer series, however I’m truly not one for this type of thing. Having a portrait taken is usually at the bottom of my list. But I decided to take a look at Andrew’s work and I really liked what I saw. Clare Waight Keller - 2.7K Likes - I had to save a whole post for the best night in Tokyo and the best rave I’ve been to in years…….thank you πŸ–€ @rickowensonline that was epic

Clare Waight Keller - 2.7K Likes - I had to save a whole post for the best night in Tokyo and the best rave I’ve been to in years…….thank you πŸ–€ @rickowensonline that was epic

Clare Waight Keller - 1.9K Likes - Over the weekend I spent some time looking through the new beautiful book on the House of Givenchy.

Clare Waight Keller - 1.5K Likes - The next couture chapter was Caraman - I named this collection after the 19th century townhouse originally built for the Duke of Caraman.
