Caption : The greatest thing I’ve ever failed at 🥹. Welcome to the family Nova. 💫 Many (most) of you said that I should keep her. But that was NEVER my intention. FOUR animals on my own, my asthma.. NO way… like, it was never on my radar. As I kept saying, “ that’s CRAZY.”… MANY said she came to me for a reason, which I believed, but I felt like I was a stepping stone to her future family until she healed. Also, because as someone that is BEYOND allergic to cats with my asthma, had a few in the family as a kid and couldn’t go near, never in my wildest dreams did I ever intend to have one in my home as an adult. I tried to encourage so many others to take her, kept telling her she’d have the best home soon with the best family, emotionally tried to keep her at a distance, but God is doing something magical with this one. She’s a FORCE of a cat. She’s teaching me so much about life, confidence, authenticity, resilience and faith. Plus, a few more things personally that I may share one day. I cry every time I talk about how much she means to me and how I feel something larger working within her for both of us (the tears are actually ridiculous😂😭).. When God brought me Stevie, I didn’t even like dogs and they terrified me, but I KNEW I needed her for some weird reason and my soul ached until I knew she was safe with me. She became my soul dog and paved the way for me and my familys love of dogs ever since. She unlocked something within me I never knew I needed, and now Nova has done the same. Thank you all for the love and encouragement- I know many of you called this from the start, so congrats haha. ALL the allergy friendly remedies and tips they’ve been a GODSEND! (Please send anymore you have too🙏🏼) And thank you to @maedayrescue!! You guys are beyond wonderful! I’m sorry I failed at the task you assigned me 😂😂🥺… If anyone is looking for a dog or cat, please check them out they are incredible!! ❤️🫶🏼 And thank you to my parents, @dajoker_z71 and @tatiana_profeta for helping me take care of her and heal her, loving her and welcoming her with open arms into our family’s now very large pack of 6 fur babies. You guys are the greatest 🥰❤️

Caption : 🍁Gratitude shapes the lens through which you view your world. It can be so easy to get caught up in what we don’t have or what we’re trying to achieve, that sometimes we forget to take note of all that we already have surrounding us and within us. Thankful for the months ahead dedicated to gratefulness, love and joy 🥰! My goal is to expand my peace and joy daily by focusing on the good and all I have🙏🏼. Side note: A couple of women (and one teenager) recently mentioned my laugh lines around my eyes and my mouth (unsolicited 🫣), and wondered why I don’t want to get rid of them and if I ever would as I age. I can’t speak to the future, but this blew my mind because I thought, “Why would I want to get rid of or hide the proof of a lifetime of laughter and happy memories?”.. To each their own, truly, and I believe people should do whatever they feel to make themselves happy and confident – but to have someone suggest I take them away for beauty sake, especially without me prompting, it really hurt my heart for some reason ❤️ . And not because they said something critical (which unfortunately I’m used to these days, especially online), but because they were asking me to get rid of things that represent my favorite parts about myself and what I feel like this world needs more of, joy and laughter. All because the lines are not “pretty”.. Laugh lines are some of my favorite parts about people in general and I want to know what brings people joy. I’m grateful for every laugh and happy memory and I don’t want to hide that light from the world 🫶🏼, and I hope you never hide your light either 💡🤍, especially because of what someone else believes.

Caption : Solitude. Gentleness. Truth. Boundaries. Integrity. Brevity. Communication. Intentional Community. Divine Power. This year has made me feel like a bear in hibernation, a butterfly in a cocoon, a lotus blooming through murky water, a phoenix rising from the ashes and Daniel in the Lions den all wrapped into one. I spent more time in solitude than ever before which cultivated a deep intention when I did engage with community. I walked into more unknown rooms with new people -alone- than ever before, which strengthened my compass because I had no one to rely on but God and myself. It created a strong presence in each moment, an unwavering gratitude and respect for each person and their time in my life, and a profound joy and peace within that I’d been searching to find for years. It started when I became brutally honest with myself about the things/people/beliefs that were no longer serving my journey, that I would no longer tolerate, and the energy I was spending on things and people that weren’t matching my effort, support, or values and distracting me from my true goals. Admitting that things needed to change allowed me to seek experiences and people that embodied what I was searching for and apply it where I could. What arose was an interesting dynamic between vulnerability and divine power. A full assessment of who and what was taking up space in my life. And now, I feel intention within each action that yields greater clarity everyday, the strongest support system I could imagine, my feet rooted in my truth, a joy and eagerness so deep it is exhilarating, and a strength and trust in my own voice that I had suppressed in many moments of my life⚡️ I can confidently say I’ve made great strides in letting go of my biggest shackles of my past, control and fear, which I did not want to take with me into the future. I can’t explain the tranquility their absence brought with it, as well as, a mass amount of laughter at the hilarity of the nuances of life. God just kept saying, “Trust me.” And that’s exactly what I did. I can’t wait to see what 2024 has in store. 🦋 🫶🏼What have you learned this year and what are you leaving behind in 2023? 🌟📖

Caption : How often do you pause ✋🏽? One thing I’ve come to realize is that most people spend more time in their head than in their body. Just because you’re moving doesn’t mean you’re consciously aware of your movement, how it’s affecting you, how it relates to the world around you, or have a clear understanding of what is physically optimal for you in each moment to achieve what you intend to accomplish. This phase of my life has been about implementing stillness.. and then moving with intention. Coming from a Type A, high functioning, neuro divergent, whose most common critique in every arena of my life has always been “slow down”, it’s safe to say it doesn’t come natural. But I know it’s essential for me now to begin to master. Without getting into the innumerable details of what I’ve learned and practiced over the last 6 months, the one thing I can say is: When I stop and drop into my body before I move, the way I function in the space around me changes. I naturally DO slow down out of an intrinsic desire to want to experience every sense as I was created to. I become clearer. I feel stronger. I can actually see how my anxiety and stress is stirred due to the fact that my body has become a servant to my brains speed. I can now literally feel my body buzz after a full day on hyper drive with little attention on stillness. Life’s become more enjoyable and interesting once recognizing that my body should be in the driver seat not my brain. It was also slightly alarming at first, when I did stop long enough, to witness my layers of emotional adaptation just to keep functioning at hyper speed… but that’s a conversation for another day. Our body’s sensory navigation is way more intuitive than our neurological one by nature, and if we can reverse the origin of initial output from mind to body our clarity opens up drastically. I believe THEN can we function at our most optimal level, with more clarity, intention, and peace. Are you consciously moving in this world or on autopilot? Can you implement more distraction void stillness in your life? How often do you feel your feet on the ground as you walk, your legs on a chair, or the air on your skin?

Caption : Prioritizing recovery has been JOURNEY. As an athlete and a dancer I LOVE power moves and high activity, and slowing down has been my life long struggle (in every area, quite frankly). BUT the more I strength train in between barre, pilates, dance, running and yoga the more I see deep stretching and recovery are not a recommendation they’re a requirement. My body doesn’t hold elasticity like it did 10/20 years ago, and strength training puts a different type of tension on my body especially in my hips and hamstrings. If I want to stay flexible, I have to work at it more than before. I could’ve saved myself from many injuries and chronic pain if I had stopped being stubborn earlier🙈 Recovery affects every area of my life, simply because the better I feel the better I can show up and be present for others. Sometimes I hold positions and sometimes I flow. I dedicate at least one to two minutes in each position when I want a deep release, and I’m really starting to crave it finally! I love to put on music and move my body in whatever way feels natural. I believe our bodies tell us where tension is being held and how we can release it if we just take the time listen. Recovery and mobility are essential for longevity in our movement and well-being. Are you taking time to nourish the balance of rest and slow movement your body needs? I also love the metaphor with the word “intensity” BEHIND me that I noticed after the fact😜 .. new chapter baby, with intentional slower movement. * If I looked distracted, it’s because I never want to make anyone else around me uncomfortable by filming. I kept looking to make sure no one was prominently in the shot.
