A Marc Jacobs Heaven meets Vivienne Westwood fusion was our interpretation of the punk theme! This was my most sentimental runway look and of course it was one of the last runway categories! Winona painstakingly hand knitted this jumper for me while also writing her own dissertation and dealing will all my copious pre drag race meltdowns and last minute decision making. Not getting to wear this on the runway was the most heartbreaking aspect of being eliminated, so as soon as I was, I ran to go put it on so the world got to see the weeks and weeks of work that went into this look! Winona made herself a matching jumper to go with mine over the summer and I couldn’t be more pleased with how these looks turned out! 💜❤️

I thought the universe was honestly trying to snipe me out the competition so I wore my favourite wig I brought that was meant for another runway because I wasn’t about to be eliminated in the bus driver wig I brought for Funny Girl. This hair was inspired by Sharon Tate obviously. On the Runway Ru said I looked more like Sharon Tate than Barbara Streisand which I obviously didn’t even take as a critique! So instead of spending anymore time talking about musicals I decided to do an homage to Sharon Tate for this redemption shoot. My 2 page notes app apology to the musical theatre gays will be coming soon.

A Versace meets Richard Quinn fusion was the idea within about 5 mins and @bby.ldn was the best teammate I could’ve asked for! From Baby talking me through a meltdown after trying to make leggings for 3 hours, me whipping this dress together pretty much after filming confessionals in the morning, styling both our wigs at 5am before we got the coach to the studio and hot gluing bows to each other 3 mins before the runway, this challenge was chaos but I wouldn’t change it for the world! I also wanted to wait till this episode to say that I really struggled to keep up financially with my runways. I’ve seen a fair bit of criticism towards my “simple” aesthetic, which I think is a combination of financial constraints, the extremely high standard of queens this season and getting many of my fashion references from runways and less “draggy” aesthetics. It sucks because I would’ve loved to bring my grandest ideas to life but it wasn’t possible for many runways. It wasn’t in the episode but i remember saying in confessionals “take everyone’s wallets away, and I’ll come out on top”. Winning the design challenge as a self proclaimed fashion queen after week one felt like the perfect redemption!
