Our daughter entered the world via squat position into the arms of my Husband and I on our living room floor! 🤣 One day I will share my birth story with you (what a RIDE!), but for now, we are resting and doing well. So thankful to the amazing midwives who were by my side, my birthing partners (my auntie Tina and my Husband @marcel__robin ) and all of our family who have been helping out and showering us with love. Caption : Daily chats with my new bestie 🥰🥹 The first 4 weeks of being a parent have been a whirlwind! Looking after a baby really is something! 😂 But I always have a few moments, for example when I’m up at 2am because baby girl needs a feed. Or I haven’t slept, feel shattered and can’t work out why my baby is crying when I’ve been through the entire checklist! I remind myself that there was a time where I wished and hoped for the very chapter I’m in right now. When I’m knee deep in nappies and drowning in milk, it’s sometimes hard to see that I am in the middle of all the moments I prayed for. When the true feeling of gratitude hits me and I see my baby girl smile, it makes every challenge worth it. For anyone in the struggle right now (first time mothers or parents like me) please share in the comments below anything that helps get you through or any advice you were given that kept you going through the toughest of times. Caption : Don’t believe me? Just watch! ✨ This week, 10 years ago, I performed Uptown Funk live on The X Factor! A moment that changed everything for me. My song was changed the day before the live show because someone on Simon Cowell’s team heard the song and the team asked me if I’d be up for learning it for the next day. I heard it, saw the video and decided to take the risk. We rehearsed the choreography the day before and I had to get the song in my head. I was SO nervous, but had no idea what that moment would do for me and my future. The song wasn’t even released in the UK, so no one knew it yet. The reaction was incredible and my version went to Number 1 the day after, while I was still in the competition. That performance changed the course of my entire X Factor journey and my career. Since then, so many doors have opened for me and the opportunities I’ve had have been incredible for me and my family. I’m so grateful for the platform that experience gave me and what it has allowed me to achieve since. I’m so pleased I was brave enough to take the risk and go for it! Thank you to all of you who have supported me since X Factor and over the past ten years. To everyone who has believed in me and encouraged me. I was a girl from Walthamstow with a dream and if I’d never believed in myself and queued up that day back in 2014 to audition, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Caption : On Saturday we celebrated one year of our baby girl Nova. I can’t believe it’s been a whole year!!! Nova, you have been such a blessing to me and your Dad, but also to the whole family. You have brought so much joy to all of our lives. When you smile, you light us up. Caption : While I was still pregnant, I received a booking to perform at a gig. It was touch and go as to whether or not I would do it because it would be so soon after giving birth. But this weekend, three weeks after having Nova, I decided I was ready to get back on stage and see how I get on. I was anxious being without our baby girl for a bit and my body definitely doesn’t feel the same, but surprisingly the energy took over. It felt amazing to perform with these incredible ladies who gave me good, positive vibes on stage. I was able to get out there, move my body, sing and do what I love and then get back to the little person I love with all my heart. I spoke to lots of you on my stories about Mum guilt and feeling anxious and it’s nice to know I’m not alone, we all experience it in some way, I’m told that it will get easier and a happy Mama means a happy bubba. ❤️Likes : 8950
