Helga Krapf Instagram - 22.02. - I wrote this a few months before the “I met my younger self for coffee” trend started and have been on a deep journey of healing yet again. The reason why I met my younger self for coffee was because I wanted tell her this: To my inner child. Little girl, I know its been hard, I know you‘ve been waiting, I know you‘ve been hurt and disappointed too many times that you feel like maybe holding on isn’t the smartest thing to do at this point. But my dear child, please do not forget…you have shown the world how graceful you stood in your unwavering resilience. When you tell your story, people stop and listen in awe, admiring the courage and strength you have shown through the heaviest of days. You sat with fear in darkness while patiently waiting for the sun to rise again. You love deeply, unconditionally. Your ability to hold the heaviness of pain in one hand, and hold up the softness of love in the other when you could’ve picked hate & resentment is the result of facing everything that’s painful instead of numbing it. My dear little one, please know, it was never your fault, yet it has been your fight, a fight you never ran from and for as long as I am here, I promise to fight with you. You are exhausted, I know, but God said: be patient, and surrender your fears to me. Its time to let go of all the wounds that were never yours to carry. We‘ll FIX YOU, no matter what it takes. You are enough, you are worthy, you are loved. I met my younger self for coffee because I wanted to thank her and hold her in my arms like she always deserved to be held…thank you for the way you won the silent battles in your head because I wouldn’t have made it this far and be who I am today without your resilience. Thank you for always showing up, not just for us, but for everyone else, even for the ones who promised to show up for you but didn’t. I’m so proud of you, and Dad is too. ❤️ ✨222✨

Helga Krapf Instagram - Look who’s back from her first 5 day trip without any parent. Safe to say we both survived it. 🙌 So proud of her and how she didn’t get home sick. Can’t stop listening to all her stories including how she fixed her own bedsheets and got ready by herself, she said she showered every night too like I said she should. 😅 She came home with colds but the weather has been so crappy I was already expecting it. Kids were also not allowed to call us and there was no screen time which she proudly announced to me when she got home. Letting go and trusting she’ll be fine wasn’t easy, its quite a process but I know she took home some unforgettable memories and experiences (like catching grasshoppers 😂) and she’s learning to grow into her own through this. Thankful my prayers of protection were heard. 🙏🏼 #Momlife #RaisingAmelie

Helga Krapf Instagram - Finally! 🙈 Didn’t think I’d still be studying and getting new titles at 35 but I think this was exactly what I was going for when I decided to move here with Amelie.🥹 What‘s funny about this is I took a complete social media break a few months ago due to some health problems but also because I was studying. The Irony of going off social media to study it 😅😂 I sometimes had to download my apps again for the papers that I had to write and submit then delete it again after. 🥴 The hardest part was the fact that everything was in German, new words and new terms. I needed more time to translate things from German-English-German than the time to understand the context of the lessons. 🤭 I dedicate this to my little girl, Momma’s gotchu Amelie! And of course my Dad, I wish I could see you seeing this and how proud you’d surely be and always have been about even the smallest achievements of mine. If you’re lucky, you get to ride them on your weekend commute. Amelie and I came from the city last Saturday and on our way home we got to ride one of those Trams. Our convo went like this: Me: How do you like the old school train? Amelie: Its alright. Do you feel like you’re old school again in this train? Me: Well kinda, its a nice experience to get to ride them. What about you? Amelie: NO. Because I don’t know how it feels to be old school. I needed a minute to process and then answered - “You’re right. That makes a lot of sense.” Two days after I sit here looking at the photos and realize, I AM NOT THAT OLD as well. 💀 I never got to ride these trains also and I only remember the more modern models too. 🤣Although I must admit I feel like I belong to a completely different era than the one I was born into and I love things from the 50s-70s. 👵🏻

Helga Krapf Instagram - Been planning to post this photo for so long but kept on delaying it because I wanted the caption to be something inspiring and meaningful because…Virgo. 😅 Honestly, I love this photo because it allows me to time travel into the future. I can imagine my future grandchildren looking at old photographs of their „Omi Helga“ as they talk about the small things like how she loved breakfast food, red lips, vintage things and also the bigger ones: the life she had lived, the struggles she overcame, the silent battles she fought, her healing journey, and hopefully laughter, love, and light that she brought to people around her. ☀️🛵💋🥞 Remember that long after your physical body has left this life behind, there’s a mark you leave in peoples lives that has the power to inspire your loved ones long after you’re gone. So make the most out of the life you are living in the present. ❤️‍🔥 PS. I think I haven’t posted a static photo for some time to the point where I was so confused about the new IG settings and how to post. 🤣 Definitely feel like I‘m getting too old for this. 😅

Helga Krapf Instagram - 14.08.23 Its been exactly two years since I packed our bags in the middle of a worldwide pandemic and left everything behind. Two of the hardest years of my life. I always look back on the day we arrived with two luggages of “essentials”. The apartment was empty except for some kitchenware to cook, a mattress and beddings to sleep on, and a small garden set we ate on for the remaining days of the summer. I remember crying because I cut myself while building Amelie’s closet, but I wasn’t crying because of pain, I was crying out of sheer exhaustion and realizing I didn’t even have a band aid for my cuts. I felt helpless and I started doubting my decisions. The past two years weren’t easy, we’re still adjusting, still building, still putting things together, still learning, still figuring things out. But in those two years, I’ve grown so much in character, as a person, as a woman, as a mother, as a friend, and a lot more. I don’t regret this move, I’m still struggling, but after two years I can say things slowly feel like home again. Slow and steady definitely wins the race. 🩵 Thankful to Amelie for also being so resilient, trusting me 100% even tho I know its hard for her too. And thankful to those who are continuously supporting us, old and new friends, you know who you are. 🙏🏼

Helga Krapf Instagram - I thought moving back to Germany will finally feel like my name won’t be so foreign anymore, and yet people here are still baffled by the fact that they just met someone who’s name only fits those who already have gray hair and have survived the war. I can’t even count how many times someone has told me here that I don’t look anything like my name. 👵🏻 For those wondering, its a pretty old german girls name which was popular around a century ago. Probably equivalent to names like Remedios (my lola) in the Philippines. Now, do I get annoyed by my name? Absolutely not. I like how I get to somehow break stereotypical barriers and carry the name beyond its expected life span and I hope it will continue to live on without automatically thinking of a blonde viking built grumpy woman with a unibrow (okay fine, I’ll admit I plucked mine 😬😜) It isn’t for everyone, and that resonates with me. ☺️ I wanted to list down a few facts about THIS Helga, but my migraine had other plans so I’ll leave you with this for now: Helga - derived from Old norse meaning “the holy/sacred one” “Divine woman” ✨ Reminder to live life according to what will allow you to grow into who and what YOU want to be, what will make YOU happy, and who YOU are meant to be. You sat with fear in darkness while patiently waiting for the sun to rise again. You love deeply, unconditionally. Your ability to hold the heaviness of pain in one hand, and hold up the softness of love in the other when you could’ve picked hate & resentment is the result of facing everything that’s painful instead of numbing it. My dear little one, please know, it was never your fault, yet it has been your fight, a fight you never ran from and for as long as I am here, I promise to fight with you. You are exhausted, I know, but God said: be patient, and surrender your fears to me. Its time to let go of all the wounds that were never yours to carry. We‘ll FIX YOU, no matter what it takes. Can’t stop listening to all her stories including how she fixed her own bedsheets and got ready by herself, she said she showered every night too like I said she should. 😅 She came home with colds but the weather has been so crappy I was already expecting it. Kids were also not allowed to call us and there was no screen time which she proudly announced to me when she got home. Letting go and trusting she’ll be fine wasn’t easy, its quite a process but I know she took home some unforgettable memories and experiences (like catching grasshoppers 😂) and she’s learning to grow into her own through this. If you’re lucky, you get to ride them on your weekend commute. Amelie and I came from the city last Saturday and on our way home we got to ride one of those Trams. Our convo went like this: Me: How do you like the old school train? Amelie: Its alright. Do you feel like you’re old school again in this train? Two of the hardest years of my life. I always look back on the day we arrived with two luggages of “essentials”. The apartment was empty except for some kitchenware to cook, a mattress and beddings to sleep on, and a small garden set we ate on for the remaining days of the summer.
