Hend Sabry Instagram - Today , millions of people are losing faith not only in maps , but in Humanity. I am one of them. I refuse to choose whose children to mourn. Children didn’t ask for your wars. Why do you force the world to choose? Why invoke the painful past of one party and deny all past and all possible future to another , then punish their innocent people for being too weak , too poor and too uneducated to fight radicalism ??
No terror can flourish with prosperity and equality. But maybe some don’t want to eradicate terror. Maybe some find it useful to their agendas. The only problem is that they are not the ones paying the price. They are not the ones living in fear and crying and mourning on both sides, they never were , they never will be. Since the day I was born , it is the same cycle : oppression and injustice leading to violence ,leading to fear ,leading to hatred ,leading to more violence and more hatred. I -and I believe I’m not alone-, chose , every time , not to let anger , injustice and violence divert my moral compass and empathy with all suffering souls .
I am today in disbelief , in front of such dismissal and dehumanization of the Palestinian people in the media..
The deafening silence and/ or the absurd “retaliation” alibi to the total obliteration of an entire territory that is “ home” to over 2 million children , women ,men , journalists and humanitarians in a besieged Gaza is a Crime. A crime that undermines any prospect for Peace , Because it is an insult not only to the values of humanity and equality we thought existed , but also an insult to our intelligence and to our memory , to the shared recent history of millions. You can’t build peace on denial. You can’t build peace without equality. Or else it is not Peace that you want , as Author Ghassan Kanafani stated , it is “capitulation”.

The NYTimes and western media chased rape stories based on fabrications and reported on them around the clock for months, on all front pages, planting in people’s minds that Palestinians are rapists without evidence.

But when we have video evidence documenting the rape of Palestinians at Sde Teiman, countless testimonials and irrefutable evidence, the western media doesn’t acknowledge the heinous crime and when asked about it say the rapist should be investigated by the same military that justifies it

The base, often compared to Guantanamo, has been used to detain Palestinians from Gaza without charge. Many view the detention of soldiers as evidence of ongoing prisoner abuse.

Human rights organizations report that at least 13 prisoners, and possibly as many as 27 according to Haaretz, have died from abuse in Israeli prisons since October 7, when the current conflict began.

Right-wing Israelis, including prominent ministers and politicians, reacted angrily to the soldiers' arrests on Monday, with a mob attempting to free them at Sde Teiman.

The soldiers were subsequently moved to another facility.

Members of Force 100 are accused of severe abuse towards Palestinian prisoners.

Israeli media reported that one prisoner required hospitalization due to injuries that prevented him from walking. Medical officials stated the injuries were not self-inflicted.

Abuse at Sde Teiman has been previously reported. A Palestinian journalist detained there described witnessing the rape of detainees.

CNN and the Associated Press have reported on the base's conditions, citing testimonies from Israelis who worked there. They claimed Palestinians were blindfolded, beaten, held in stress positions, and some had limbs amputated due to severe injuries from prolonged handcuffing.

All nine soldiers have been released and some have posted on social media how they were told they had the support of the military and their superiors after committing rape.

أكتب هذا بقلب مثقل وحزن عميق؛ حيث قررت التخلي عن دوري كسفيرة للنوايا الحسنة لبرنامج الأغذية العالمي التابع للأمم المتحدة، وهو الدور الذي أعتز به وألعبه منذ سنوات.

لقد تعلمت كثيرًا.. وبكيت كثيرًا معكم جميعًا طوال هذه الرحلة التي ستظل دائمًا في قلبي.

فأنا ومنذ ثلاثة عشر عاما.. أصبحت جزءا من الأسرة الكبيرة لبرنامج الأغذية العالمي التابع للأمم المتحدة.

جزءًا من مهمة عظيمة ونبيلة.. وأنا فخورة بذلك.

لقد رأيت طوال هذه السنوات كيف كرس رجال ونساء شجعان في جميع أنحاء العالم حياتهم لخدمة الآخرين - ولهذا السبب، أكنّ لهم حبًا واحترامًا عميقين.

خلال الأسابيع الماضية، شهدت وشاركت تجارب زملائي المتفانين في برنامج الأغذية العالمي.

في الإحساس بالعجز لعدم قدرتهم على القيام بواجبهم على أكمل وجه كعادتهم دائما تجاه الأطفال والأمهات والآباء والأجداد في غزة.

ولم يكن بوسعهم إلا عمل القليل في مواجهة آلة الحرب الطاحنة التي لم ترحم المدنيين الذين يحاصرهم الموت.

لقد حاولت إيصال صوتي على أعلى مستوى في برنامج الأغذية العالمي والانضمام لزملائي في المطالبة باستخدام ثقل البرنامج- مثلما فعل بنجاح في السابق، للدعوة والضغط بقوة من أجل وقف إطلاق النار الإنساني والفوري في قطاع غزة، والاستفادة من نفوذ البرنامج لمنع استخدام التجويع كسلاح حرب.

لأنني كنت على يقين من أن برنامج الأغذية العالمي - الذي حصل على جائزة نوبل للسلام قبل 3 أعوام فقط - بعد أن كان مشاركا نشطا في قرار الأمم المتحدة رقم 2417 الذي أدان استخدام التجويع كوسيلة من وسائل الحرب - سوف يستخدم صوته بقوة كما فعل في حالات الطوارئ والأزمات الإنسانية المتعددة.

ومع ذلك، فقد تم استخدام التجويع والحصار كأسلحة حرب على مدى الأيام الستة والأربعين الماضية ضد أكثر من مليوني مدني في غزة.

وهو السلاح الذي قتل حتى الآن أكثر من 14 ألف شخص، وأصبح أكثر من 1.6 مليون شخص بلا مأوى، ودُمرت نصف المباني، وقصفت المستشفيات والمدارس التي من المفترض أن تكون ملاجئ آمنة.

لأجل ذلك.. أعلن إستقالتي وأتمنى لجميع زملائي في برنامج الأغذية العالمي السلامة والسلام.
