Although not every relationship exists in the same way that it started or was intended (whether romantically or otherwise), the relationships can still be the greatest gift in any iteration it exists in. For us we continue to love each other in ways that although are no longer romantic still exists in a multitude of ways and I could not be more grateful for the love we shared together. Jade Tailor Instagram - This weekend we celebrate many holidays around the world. For some it is Easter, for some Passover… for many the beginning of a new. Spring is in full bloom and the things that once were are continuing wash away. To me and in my life it feels that way both literally and metaphorically right now. I’m currently in the question of what can I let go of in order to make space for the new. What is currently calling to get washed away for new seeds to blossom and bloom. Like the seasons there is a cycle to it all. Sometimes the things we hold onto are actually the things preventing us from growing and blossoming. As I ponder this question, I ask you the same… what are you letting go of (be it material possessions, friends/ people that no longer feel aligned, patterns in yourself, old beliefs, etc…)? Jade Tailor Instagram - Someone recently asked me how I stay so positive all the time, and stated that I always look so happy. The truth is that I strive for happiness, but I am (just as you are), human. We all have good days and we all have bad days. We all have challenges that we must face whether big or small. I read somewhere today that,” happiness is not the absence of problems, it is the ability to deal with them.” I couldn’t agree more. This week was not an easy one. I don’t share that to get sympathy so please refrain. I share that so you all know that we ALL struggle at times, but we learn, we get stronger, and we hopefully grow from them. Though I believe that is up to you. We can either become victims to our circumstances or become the victors because of them. And I believe that simply comes down to choice. For we can not always choose what happens to us… but we CAN choose how we respond to it. What will you choose? Singing is one way I have always healed, and moved through challenging moments. So may this bring you some peace, knowing that you are not alone in whatever you are going through, and may these words and song bring you peace as it has me. Sending you all so much love ❤️
Jade Tailor Instagram - Happy Winter Solstice everyone ❄️ This time of year we are often told to rush to complete all that we did not finish in the past year, preparing for the year ahead. Though the changing of the tides and this wintery season is desiring the antithesis. It is calling for us to slow down. This is a time of reflection and pause, a time where we allow the seeds we have planted to hibernate only to be birthed anew when the sun comes once again in the new year. I love the correlation between nature and the self for it is a time where Mother Nature lay dormant and takes pause. Therefore it is a time for us to take pause, to reassess, and recalibrate all that we have learned, grown in, and created in order to assess where we are going and what we may create next. That said, something I have learned as of late… it is okay to slow down! In fact it is necessary in order to allow for new growth and expansion just as it does in nature. My dearest friend @nataliemacneil said recently, “I’m going to end the year soft,” as opposed to hard. I too am choosing to end it soft. With so many changes, hardships the world has faced, and so many ups and downs… I can’t think of a better way to honor this year and the self than to do it softly with grace, ease, love and compassion for all that you have gone through, and all that you are. No matter what you have done or didn’t do, I am here to tell you that you don’t need to do a thing to deserve love, compassion, and ease. Each and everyone of us deserves that. Jade Tailor Instagram - Let’s talk self compassion for a moment… So often in life we get so hard on ourselves for not being exactly where we wanted to be when we wanted to be there. We compare ourselves to other and where they are in their lives and careers. Social media does not make that any easier for us. In a society that works so hard to make you feel inadequate, or like it isn’t okay to be who, where, and what you are… we must work extremely hard to find that acceptance in ourselves. I asked someone this question today. “Do we live just to die?” Meaning do we live just simply to get to the final destination? Subjective, but to me the answer is a clear NO. No, we did not come here to die, we came here to live! The so called journey of life! Therefore, can we be a little more gentle with ourselves about where we are in this very moment. Cause this moment is EXACTLY where we are and therefore where we are supposed to be. Can you then learn to love the journey and all its twists and turns? Can you then love when you fall down in order to learn to get back up more easily the next time? AND also know that there is nothing to actually fix or change. Yes, we will continue to learn and grow… AND you are perfect as you are and there is NOTHING wrong with you, and nothing to fix. We are humans that are meant to have a perfectly imperfect HUMAN experience. So let’s celebrate how perfectly imperfect we are, just as we are, in this perfectly imperfect moment. Love you all! Jade Tailor Instagram - “To see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower. Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour…” Happy March everyone🌻 This poem not only reminds me of the beauty that this world holds even in the tiniest grain of sand and a most tender of wild flowers. It also reminds me of the divine order and process of things. For example, a wild flower was once not a wildflower but a seed, and before that, perhaps dirt. Before that, atoms that had yet to take form as anything even remotely resembling the beginnings of a plant, and so on and so forth. We can therefore, quite literally hold infinity in the palm of our hands at any given moment. What a gift and a miracle that is, and how beautiful that every atom, every piece of dirt every bit of pollination… all of it had to work in perfect harmony with the perfect amalgamation in order to birth that single flower. How incredible is Mother Earth and what she creates! In this, I’m reminded that everything has its season, and progresses in time just as nature does. We need the rain to fall before spring can bloom. There is a time to plant and a time to sew. There is a time to rest and a time to take action. So with that, trust that all is in divine and perfect order and it will all happen in due time. Don’t give up just before the blooming of what is coming to you. Just as spring has come, so will the blossoming in your life 🌱🌿
Jade Tailor Instagram - Reflecting on another year, another birthday come and gone, another year of lessons learned. So here are just a few things I will be taking with me into this coming year… 1. How someone else feels about you and treats you is a reflection of them more so than a reflection of you. So hold up a mirror and don’t take things others say or do personally. 2. Love doesn’t always feel like sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes or often times it will also be painful and scary to entrust someone with something so deeply precious. Allow yourself to lean in and find both the light and the shadow in it. Love will both light the way, illuminating a path to the heart and also show you all the obstacles in its way. 3. Trust in the divine. Even in the most painful of moments in life… remember life is not happening to you, it’s happening FOR you. 4. People will come and go from your life… those that are meant to stay will, and those who aren’t, won’t. You don’t want fairweather people in your life. You want the ride or die folks that can love you through it all, just as you love them. 5. Continuation of 4… nourish that which nourishes you. I believe in you. As I reflect on it… I think about the inner child that lives within all of us. I reflect on her purity and innocence. I reflect on the wisdom she holds, her tenderness, and her innate strength (swipe for reference:). The girl untainted by the sufferings of this world or that which she will learn. I think about what it means to be a girl in this day and age… I think about the young girls fighting for freedom in Iran, and the ones that were killed protesting for such freedom. I think about the little Palestinian and Israeli girls as they grow up in a conflict they never asked for nor wanted who deserve peace. I think about the little girls that will grow up to be the one in four women to know abuse in their lifetime… but I also think about the girls out there (and within) that will be the change for a better future. I think about the little girl in me that wanted so badly to create that brighter, more loving, and peaceful world. I think about the impact these girls will make and the world we will create free from suffering and oppression. In these faces I see the face of love. I see the face of freedom. Jade Tailor Instagram - Watching @msayles post his incredible shots from the @theacademy this past weekend I was reminded of this fun shoot we did. Matt, thank you for capturing my essence the way you did. For every person that feels like they aren’t accepted for the entirety of who they are… this is for you: Some days I feel fierce and powerful, as this photo conveys. Some days I feel tender and soft. Some days I am pure strength and some days I may feel weak. And every day, whether I feel it or not, whether I remember in the challenging moments or not, I am never not strength because I simply am. Just as you are. It is easy to judge one’s self and deem the hard or challenging parts of us as bad or wrong, rather than part of the beautiful wholeness that is you. This is an invitation to accept and love the pieces of you that you may hide or be afraid to reveal. The parts of you that deep down, you wish for others to love. This is an invitation for YOU to love these pieces of YOU. I think we often classify people as these binary and polarizing dichotomies. We create an “either or.” Either we are strong or we are weak. Either we are loving or we are hard. Either we are living or dying. We are complex individuals born into duality. We are both life and death in every breath, as old cells die for new ones to be born. We can be sad or tender while also being strong and powerful, which I believe to be deeply true, as tenderness and vulnerability is (to me) the most palpable form of strength. The complexity is what makes us uniquely beautiful yet we hide so much of ourself out of fear that we may not be loved for it. Here is a little reminder that I LOVE YOU FOR IT. ALL of it. ALL of you. Don’t hide who you are. Let it shine and if someone doesn’t love it… then they don’t get to have the gift of the magic that is you, which gives you more space to give that love and acceptance to yourself. I love you all… in all ways.

Jade Tailor Instagram - A reminder for the day in case you need it… BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! Easier said than done, I know... Strange that a simple phrase can be so challenging to grasp at times. What does it mean to believe in yourself? How might one do that? It’s hard when we live in a society that doesn’t celebrate us for being one’s self, as if we are meant to fit some invisible/ idealized mold to be deemed accepted in society. Where we hide the truth of who we are or try to change in order to fit it. For what? To fit in where? We are not made like anyone else so why must we continue to try to be like anyone else when we are meant to stand out? When we are created as beautifully unique individuals with 80 trillion unique cells in our bodies. All that said… I think believing in one’s self is being in full celebration of the magic and uniqueness that is all of us. It is a belief in your unique gifts and talents and all of your quirks. Loving both the light and the dark parts of one’s self, knowing that all of it makes up the brilliance and color of you. It is trusting that you are strong and capable of making it through anything. How do I know? Because you’re reading this! So here is a little reminder for you that you are made perfect, whole, and complete just as you are. I believe in you ❤️

Jade Tailor Instagram - Here are some words I wanted to share in hopes that someone might extrapolate some inspiration from it… My father used to say אם אין אני לי מי לי. Which means “if I’m not for me who is.” As a child I used to resist this phrase, thinking that it was selfish, or created so much separateness. If you know my father you’d understand why I might have come to this conclusion. However, my understanding of this phrase has shifted over time. Yes, we live in a world where we are inherently self centered. We have individual needs, desires, perspectives, and we can only see the world through our own unique vantage point, and our limited/ unique perspective based on our upbringing, circumstances, culture, DNA, etc. AND though this may be true, do I desire a world in which we can live less selfishly and care about one another more deeply, absolutely! I mean, in truth there is no separation, as we are all part of the oneness that is… but I digress. May be a bit too esoteric for my point. Ha! My point being… it is an inherent need to be self focused, but I think there’s a distinction between being selfish and being self-full. I feared selfishness, believing it would create separateness, division, and less care… and yes, selfishness can do that. But to be self-full… that is something I am learning is a vital part of the human experience. It is something that actually creates more connection with self and others. If we are not full in ourselves, we are then constantly seeking fulfillment, validation, and happiness outside of ourselves. This, in my opinion, is a recipe for unhappiness. When we are “for ourselves,” we no longer need that from outside of us. And when we no longer need it from outside of us, we are no longer negatively affected by the things and people around us. We must learn to fill our own cup first and foremost or how will we be able to then do that for another. So… how will you choose to fill your cup today? How will you fill yourself up today and everyday? I feel there is only one thing left to say, if I so dare… to quote RuPaul, “If you can’t love yourself, how the hell are you gonna love somebody else. Can I get an Amen?” 📷: @yossefsagi ✨

The way government, culture, entertainment, and society has programmed this iterative cycle of living is starting to deteriorate. Which leaves in a unique state with a unique choice: Stay asleep, or decide to wake up? As vague, or even annoying, as that sounds - it really is the choice we are being presented with as a human race. It’s a bold move to question. It’s even bolder to decide to take a few steps to get out of your box. Out of your comfort zone. Out of the convention of your cozy container and start to ask… “what else is there?” This was part of a fun, open, non-scripted chat with my friend and collaborator @jade.tailor about a new way that’s emerging for us humans to unlock the vastness of what we truly are. The truth is that I strive for happiness, but I am (just as you are), human. We all have good days and we all have bad days. We all have challenges that we must face whether big or small. I don’t share that to get sympathy so please refrain. I share that so you all know that we ALL struggle at times, but we learn, we get stronger, and we hopefully grow from them. Though I believe that is up to you. We can either become victims to our circumstances or become the victors because of them. And I believe that simply comes down to choice. For we can not always choose what happens to us… but we CAN choose how we respond to it. What will you choose? Singing is one way I have always healed, and moved through challenging moments. Though the changing of the tides and this wintery season is desiring the antithesis. It is calling for us to slow down. This is a time of reflection and pause, a time where we allow the seeds we have planted to hibernate only to be birthed anew when the sun comes once again in the new year. I love the correlation between nature and the self for it is a time where Mother Nature lay dormant and takes pause. Therefore it is a time for us to take pause, to reassess, and recalibrate all that we have learned, grown in, and created in order to assess where we are going and what we may create next. That said, something I have learned as of late… it is okay to slow down! In fact it is necessary in order to allow for new growth and expansion just as it does in nature. My dearest friend @nataliemacneil said recently, “I’m going to end the year soft,” as opposed to hard. I too am choosing to end it soft. With so many changes, hardships the world has faced, and so many ups and downs… I can’t think of a better way to honor this year and the self than to do it softly with grace, ease, love and compassion for all that you have gone through, and all that you are. No matter what you have done or didn’t do, I am here to tell you that you don’t need to do a thing to deserve love, compassion, and ease. Each and everyone of us deserves that. It also reminds me of the divine order and process of things. For example, a wild flower was once not a wildflower but a seed, and before that, perhaps dirt. Matt, thank you for capturing my essence the way you did. For every person that feels like they aren’t accepted for the entirety of who they are… this is for you: Some days I feel fierce and powerful, as this photo conveys. Some days I feel tender and soft. Some days I am pure strength and some days I may feel weak. And every day, whether I feel it or not, whether I remember in the challenging moments or not, I am never not strength because I simply am. Just as you are. It is easy to judge one’s self and deem the hard or challenging parts of us as bad or wrong, rather than part of the beautiful wholeness that is you. This is an invitation to accept and love the pieces of you that you may hide or be afraid to reveal. The parts of you that deep down, you wish for others to love. This is an invitation for YOU to love these pieces of YOU. I think we often classify people as these binary and polarizing dichotomies. We create an “either or.” Either we are strong or we are weak. Either we are loving or we are hard. Either we are living or dying. We are complex individuals born into duality. We are both life and death in every breath, as old cells die for new ones to be born. We can be sad or tender while also being strong and powerful, which I believe to be deeply true, as tenderness and vulnerability is (to me) the most palpable form of strength. The complexity is what makes us uniquely beautiful yet we hide so much of ourself out of fear that we may not be loved for it. Here is a little reminder that I LOVE YOU FOR IT. ALL of it. ALL of you. Don’t hide who you are. Let it shine and if someone doesn’t love it… then they don’t get to have the gift of the magic that is you, which gives you more space to give that love and acceptance to yourself. I love you all… in all ways.

For every person that feels like they aren’t accepted for the entirety of who they are… this is for you: Some days I feel fierce and powerful, as this photo conveys. Some days I feel tender and soft. Some days I am pure strength and some days I may feel weak. And every day, whether I feel it or not, whether I remember in the challenging moments or not, I am never not strength because I simply am. Just as you are. It is easy to judge one’s self and deem the hard or challenging parts of us as bad or wrong, rather than part of the beautiful wholeness that is you. This is an invitation to accept and love the pieces of you that you may hide or be afraid to reveal. The parts of you that deep down, you wish for others to love. This is an invitation for YOU to love these pieces of YOU. I think we often classify people as these binary and polarizing dichotomies. We create an “either or.” Either we are strong or we are weak. Either we are loving or we are hard. Either we are living or dying. We are complex individuals born into duality. We are both life and death in every breath, as old cells die for new ones to be born. We can be sad or tender while also being strong and powerful, which I believe to be deeply true, as tenderness and vulnerability is (to me) the most palpable form of strength. The complexity is what makes us uniquely beautiful yet we hide so much of ourself out of fear that we may not be loved for it. Here is a little reminder that I LOVE YOU FOR IT. ALL of it. ALL of you. Don’t hide who you are. Let it shine and if someone doesn’t love it… then they don’t get to have the gift of the magic that is you, which gives you more space to give that love and acceptance to yourself. I love you all… in all ways.

Strange that a simple phrase can be so challenging to grasp at times. What does it mean to believe in yourself? How might one do that? It’s hard when we live in a society that doesn’t celebrate us for being one’s self, as if we are meant to fit some invisible/ idealized mold to be deemed accepted in society. Where we hide the truth of who we are or try to change in order to fit it. For what? To fit in where? We are not made like anyone else so why must we continue to try to be like anyone else when we are meant to stand out? When we are created as beautifully unique individuals with 80 trillion unique cells in our bodies. All that said… I think believing in one’s self is being in full celebration of the magic and uniqueness that is all of us. It is a belief in your unique gifts and talents and all of your quirks. Loving both the light and the dark parts of one’s self, knowing that all of it makes up the brilliance and color of you. It is trusting that you are strong and capable of making it through anything. Which means “if I’m not for me who is.” As a child I used to resist this phrase, thinking that it was selfish, or created so much separateness. If you know my father you’d understand why I might have come to this conclusion. However, my understanding of this phrase has shifted over time. Yes, we live in a world where we are inherently self centered. We have individual needs, desires, perspectives, and we can only see the world through our own unique vantage point, and our limited/ unique perspective based on our upbringing, circumstances, culture, DNA, etc. AND though this may be true, do I desire a world in which we can live less selfishly and care about one another more deeply, absolutely! I mean, in truth there is no separation, as we are all part of the oneness that is… but I digress. May be a bit too esoteric for my point. Ha! My point being… it is an inherent need to be self focused, but I think there’s a distinction between being selfish and being self-full. I feared selfishness, believing it would create separateness, division, and less care… and yes, selfishness can do that. But to be self-full… that is something I am learning is a vital part of the human experience. It is something that actually creates more connection with self and others. If we are not full in ourselves, we are then constantly seeking fulfillment, validation, and happiness outside of ourselves. This, in my opinion, is a recipe for unhappiness. When we are “for ourselves,” we no longer need that from outside of us. And when we no longer need it from outside of us, we are no longer negatively affected by the things and people around us. We must learn to fill our own cup first and foremost or how will we be able to then do that for another. So… how will you choose to fill your cup today? How will you fill yourself up today and everyday? I feel there is only one thing left to say, if I so dare… to quote RuPaul, “If you can’t love yourself, how the hell are you gonna love somebody else. Can I get an Amen?” 📷: @yossefsagi ✨
