Jen Lilley Instagram - January is the month I regroup and cram in family time. We’ve been to warm climates, we’ve been to snow, we’ve gotten wild hair cuts, we’ve lost some teeth, we’ve played dress up and rocked some funny wigs, we’ve painted, done science experiments, gone swimming, and made tons of cookies. And now I’m adding a long hoped for trip to Uganda on Tuesday. 2024 has been pretty great so far. #photodump Uganda, here I come ❤️❤️ @project_orphans

Jen Lilley Instagram - It’s time for another round of random facts about me with a random photo. This one’s a bit longer so I had to screen cap my facts (swipe to see them). Posting because I truly hope it inspires & encourages you.

After writing these, I emailed my Professor. Thinking he wouldn’t remember me but he should still be thanked. He wrote back, correcting my dates, & even included his recommendation letter of me to UVA.

1)I used to have such bad test anxiety that I would almost pass out. Way back when I took the SATs & the top score was still 1600, I would always get over 1500 on my practice test, which were simply old SATs that one would use to prepare. However, when I would get to test day, I would almost pass out because I wanted to go to the University of Virginia since I was about three years old, and I knew that you had to get a minimum of 1400 in order to get into the school. So I would shake so hard my pencil would fall to the ground and then once I picked up my pencil, I would shake so hard my paper would fall to the ground and I would just lose very valuable time. I have no idea if they still time those tests but they were timed when I took them. I think the best I ever got was 1310.  (I had to take it multiple times due to overwhelming anxiety). It wasn’t until my first year of College when I attended James Madison University, that a professor of geography pulled me out of class one day and said I don’t understand how you’re not getting a perfect score on every test. You know every single answer in class to the point that I don’t call on you because we need to give somebody else a chance. But when you get to the test, it’s like you think I’m tricking you and you miss answers that I know you answered correctly during lecture. Anyway, long story short, he talk to me about my fear and asked me why I put so much pressure on myself, and I told him it was because UVA said if I got perfect grades, they would let me in as a transfer student. I did end up transferring to the University of Virginia, and I suppose that was fate because I never would have found acting if I hadn’t gone on to UVA, but I will never forget that professor because he changed my entire life.

Jen Lilley Instagram - Here’s a random photo from the other day at Disney world when it torrential rained and I forgot our ponchos so I just told the kids to embrace it and have fun jumping in puddles. My sweet nanny and friend Ashley took this because she could not stop laughing at the water just dripping off my nose and eye lashes as I still attempted to read a our soggier by the second map. She also said it looks like I was wearing a shower cap. I don’t see it but she was laughing so hard at that she was wheezing, so if you see it, I hope it makes you laugh that hard too. My only prayer was my bra was thick enough to not make this kid friendly park extremely indecent in my white tank. 🤣🙈 What are some of the “this is fun” when it’s not the most fun stories you’ve told your kids when life gets real?

Jen Lilley Instagram - Day 1 of Uganda and my life is already changed forever. A photo could never capture the incredible heart, work, and integrity that is @project_orphans. Today, I saw their new school which is almost completed, was part of a medical camp, prayed for so many people, and I got to meet John, our King of Hearts (more on that later, but if you supported that first single, you know) ❤️. I am so incredibly grateful I get to do life with @brittanyraestokes @christinayarid and @ashleymcky. pS Britt I just realized you’re giving me a mustache in the first photo 😆🤷🏼‍♀️

Jen Lilley Instagram - Missing this little bug’s birthday party, but this photo warms my momma heart to almost tears. I am so blessed to be this little warrior princess’s momma. I love raising her. She defines joy, zeal, fire, and also tenderness. Julie, you’re the best 5 year old in the world! ❤️❤️🥹🥹 Please pray for this little one today, that she’ll encounter Jesus in personal and profoundly wonderful ways this year. What a treasure.
And special thanks to @thecoppernest for her personalized bday shirt!
Jen Lilley Instagram - I haven’t done a 5 things you didn’t know about me post in 3 years! So here’s 5 random facts:

1) I have tons and tons of photos like this I forget to post because I often think social media feels pointless and vapid. But then I remember that the last time I felt this way, I dug deep and reframed social media as a way to find my tribe and my people. I have met, known, and grown to love so many of you, and I promise I’m going to try to stop being such a hermit and post more personal posts. Starting with this.

2) I don’t like journaling. I love the way they look, but I always wonder who you’re writing them for. I mean when people journal, do they realize one day it might be read when they’re dead…and are they writing for that person? Can you ever be truly vulnerable without feeling someone would find it later and judge you? Does anyone else ever have this question or is that just me? Any journals I get I end is using for taking notes or making lists.

3) I make a lot of lists. Right now I have 574 notes in my iPhone. And that’s after I deleted about 75 on my last plane ride 😅🤣

4) in the “marshmallow experiment” conducted on kids, I think I would have lasted a few days vs the 15 mins. I am ridiculously grateful for every thoughtful gift I’ve ever received, but I have a TERRIBLE habit of not opening gifts I get for MONTHS! and it’s not because I’m not excited, it’s because I’m weirdly reward based and I feel I need to earn the right moment to open it 🫠 just ask @thecoppernest who sends THE BEST gifts anyone could ever dream of and so I set them in my office and look at the box each day til I feel I’ve accomplished enough to stop and treat myself 🤷🏼‍♀️ so hey, if I finally land my dream role in about 15 years, it’ll just fit my personality

5) I have an accidental minor degree in Environmental Science. I love love love LOVE LOVE LOVE plate tectonics and earth science! So I took so many classes at the University of Virginia out of sheer curiosity and wonder that my professor said, aren’t you a drama student? Why are you taking these classes? (y’all sometimes we’d work on ONE mathematical equation for a week!) but I LOVE it!

K. Lilley out.

Jen Lilley Instagram - This was hands down, my favorite service project EVER!!!! We got to replace a leaking thatch roof, make the house taller, and install a metal roof. I don’t have a final photo, but this day was simply incredible. It meant so much to the family. They cried. I cried. And then my inner child, who played in the dirt way too much, got to come out and make mud pies and learn how to make a real mud hut. I finally have a skill for the apocalypse that’s more useful than encouraging others 😆🙌❤️. I hope I get to do this again. Best day ever. Thank you @project_orphans for everything you do every single day! You love SO well!!
PS @brittanyraestokes standing behind me like “this girl🤦🏼‍♀️” 😆😆❤️

Jen Lilley - 6.4K Likes - January is the month I regroup and cram in family time.

Jen Lilley - 6.1K Likes - It’s time for another round of random facts about me with a random photo.

Caption : It’s time for another round of random facts about me with a random photo. Jen Lilley - 6K Likes - Here’s a random photo from the other day at Disney world when it torrential rained and I forgot our ponchos so I just told the kids to embrace it and have fun jumping in puddles.

Today, I saw their new school which is almost completed, was part of a medical camp, prayed for so many people, and I got to meet John, our King of Hearts (more on that later, but if you supported that first single, you know) ❤️. I am so incredibly grateful I get to do life with @brittanyraestokes @christinayarid and @ashleymcky. pS Britt I just realized you’re giving me a mustache in the first photo 😆🤷🏼‍♀️

Today, I saw their new school which is almost completed, was part of a medical camp, prayed for so many people, and I got to meet John, our King of Hearts (more on that later, but if you supported that first single, you know) ❤️.

Jen Lilley - 4.6K Likes - I haven’t done a 5 things you didn’t know about me post in 3 years!

K. Lilley out.

Jen Lilley - 4.4K Likes - This was hands down, my favorite service project EVER!!!!
