Meetha Raghunath Instagram - I love vegetarian maki! When I eat a maki roll it goes straight to my heart and fills it with overwhelming joy.

This is my sister. And I love her more than the maki experience that I have just described. Every time I see her or think about her, my heart pongifies with love and happiness 🌝

Happy belated birthday Unni :*
나 너 사랑해 ♥️

P.S. Pongifies is Tanglish for overflows. And Tanglish is Tamil English. Now I’m not sure if the post is about my love for her or our love for food. Kbye :)

Meetha Raghunath Instagram - Having a traditional Badaga wedding is something I did not anticipate. Falling in love wasn’t something I anticipated either, but I did. So the Badaga wedding that followed was just a beautiful celebration of that. A “Madhil” is an arc like structure which is a sacred space in every traditional Badaga household. Though we didn’t get married in a hatti (a Badaga village) we wanted to do something that felt quite close to our culture for the wedding. Being the artistic geniuses of the house, my mom came up with the idea of the Madhil and the decor surrounding it and my sister designed the whole thing. They worked out everything from the colour palettes to just how it should look. So much of the wedding was an art project of sorts for all of us, but more about that later. Finding love is divine timing, but the ability to recognise love when it presents itself before you, and having the courage to embrace it is one of the qualities I’m most grateful to the universe for blessing me with. Long story short, I fell in love and got to have a beautiful wedding, it being a traditional Badaga wedding was just a fun added bonus.

Thank you @dhanusiyaviswanathan from @dreamday_designers for helping us execute our idea in the most efficient and passionately dedicated way as possible.

Meetha Raghunath Instagram - Turning 27.

Three months ago, I turned 27 this day.
“After 25, something switches in your mind,” my sister told me when I was 24.
Something did switch in my mind in the last couple of years.
I know now how to stand my ground while being kind,
I know now not to put myself down in order to be polite,
I know now that grace is something that you can choose to embody and it is independent of the situations and people outside of you.
I know now that words are always spoken and written,
But the action that follows is what makes life, life.
It has taken twenty seven years for me to find my voice,
And it is only developing.
As it does continue taking different shapes and forms,
I hope when someone chances upon it,
It always exists as a reminder that the world is a kind, good place -
A place where love and empathy always finds its way.

Meetha Raghunath Instagram - Sarees of my Wedding.

Part 2 - The Wedding!

1. The blue and red silk saree with golden zari - As a family we love single colour solid bodied sarees with traditional borders. My mom got this for herself first but I flicked it from her for the pre wedding ceremony and I’m glad I did. This is also from Anya.
2. The cream tissue silk saree with a green pallu - I only wanted to wear sarees for any occasion associated with the wedding. I found this gorgeous saree that’s tissue silk and has a beautiful green pallu. Wearing a sleeveless green blouse, I sorigified (read tucked in) the pallu and danced away at the cocktail party. I got this from Anya (again).
3. The cream silk saree with orangish red thread worked border - This is one of the first sarees I ever got. We went to Mahaveers Coimbatore just to see sarees with no intention of buying any immediately but as soon as I saw this I knew this was it. Red and white are traditional Badaga colours and I couldn’t have asked for anything better.
4. The pink silk saree with a green border - My mom and sister had selected this from Nalli in T Nagar when I was promoting Good Night. I went in after work and loved it when I saw it because it has such a distinct tone of pink to it with impeccable zari work.

We wanted the engagement and the wedding to be a super chill intimate party. So I draped my own sarees, did my own hair and make up and got ready before the rest of the family.( Also I had my mom and sister for any help I needed, so 🌝) I also wore kannadi valayals (glass bangles) because I love them!

I love it when I know where someone got a piece of clothing I like from. So this me sharing where I got my wedding sarees from. This is not an ad, nobody is paying me for it. I love the sarees I got for my wedding and I’m really grateful for them. I hope you get to wear all that you love and enjoy too🌻

Thank you for your time!

Meetha Raghunath Instagram - Sarees of my Wedding.

Part 1.

The engagement.

Though I believe not more than ten percent of my personality allows for wearing sarees, my mom’s and sister’s undying love for them (read borderline obsession) makes up for it. But hey, no one can complain about sarees now, can they? They truly do make you feel wonderful. I never had a wedding “shopping shopping” thing where you’d go out and buy everything you need, all at once. When I fell in love with Monish and we decided to get married, I just began collecting sarees. So this series is about the sarees I collected for my wedding over the span of about a year.

1. The black silk saree - It is my mom’s saree. It’s 25 years old and she bought it with her first ever salary as a teacher. (It was 4500 rupees and she got it in instalments that she paid over a year) She laughs about it today because it was blasphemous to buy a black silk saree back then let alone spend so much on it. I wore it the day before the engagement because we lucked out and had the whole place to ourselves, so we decided to play dress up. I love this saree because it has my mom written all over it.

2. The peach silk saree with a bronze zari - I wanted a modern looking pastel saree for wearing before the engagement rituals took place and this was that. I got it in Kalaniketan in Coimbatore.

3. The yellow silk saree with maroon border - When Monish and I saw this saree we knew it was perfect to get engaged in. Traditional sarees for the win, always! We got this at our favourite boutique called Anya in Coimbatore. It’s one of my favourite sarees.

It was raining cats and dogs the day before and on day of the engagement and I was terribly sick though it doesn’t look like it in the photographs. But I woke up, dressed myself and chose to have fun through it all. The sky cleared up at the right times and we had fun!

This series is not an ad for anyone. I just wanted to share the sarees I wore for my wedding because they’re very special to me. And if I saw a saree I liked online, I would always want to know where someone got them from, so this is just that!

Okay bye!

Okay bye!

Meetha Raghunath Instagram - ‘Mudhal Nee Mudivum Nee’ has given me everything.
With my next film ‘Good Night’ releasing tomorrow, the song that I thoroughly enjoyed living through has reached a 100 Million today.

I am grateful every single day for all that life has to offer. Through good days and not so great days, believe in what you believe in and breathe, in the long run everything eventually always comes together 🌻🤍

Thank you 🌻

Happy belated birthday Unni :*

P.S. Pongifies is Tanglish for overflows. And Tanglish is Tamil English. Now I’m not sure if the post is about my love for her or our love for food. Kbye :)

Meetha Raghunath - 194.3K Likes - Having a traditional Badaga wedding is something I did not anticipate.

Meetha Raghunath - 194.1K Likes - Turning 27.

Caption : Turning 27. Three months ago, I turned 27 this day. “After 25, something switches in your mind,” my sister told me when I was 24. Something did switch in my mind in the last couple of years. I know now how to stand my ground while being kind, I know now not to put myself down in order to be polite, I know now that grace is something that you can choose to embody and it is independent of the situations and people outside of you. I know now that words are always spoken and written, But the action that follows is what makes life, life. It has taken twenty seven years for me to find my voice, And it is only developing. Meetha Raghunath - 181K Likes - Sarees of my Wedding.

If you don’t know what Badaga dance is, do yourself a favour and go to any Badaga festival/function in the Nilgiris and you’ll find yourself automatically dancing away! Thank me later 🌝

Meetha Raghunath - 102.6K Likes - Sarees of my Wedding.

Okay bye!

Thank you 🌻
