Nicki Chapman Instagram - Wow…so many wonderful, loving & hilarious stories written about Jonnie over the last 72 hours… like so many of you, we were lucky to have him in our lives, whether standing by his side presenting or on our screens day to day. We all knew him. We all adored him. He was our Jonnie ❤️ I’ve struggled & found it hard to accept that his battle is now over, one he fought so bravely wanting to spend each precious moment with Jess, his adorable boys and wider family & friends. The last few times we worked & laughed together will be with me forever. Our mischievous Jonnie will always be remembered for being the bravest of souls, the one with the best bants, always delivering the perfect hilarious line & showed us all what it is to have determination, passion, belief & that spirit that never left him. Jonnie & I were always in competition - who could screw up our links on Escape to the Country the most. How many takes??!? Jonnie, don’t worry, I’ll carry that title with pride matey ❤️ Love to Jess, the boys & their family & friends who I know have been so amazing these last three years or so xx As @cathymgriffin so beautifully said, Jonnie we’ll see you again at the ultimate wrap party ✨ And one last important thing: my thoughts & love to anyone going through something similar - past or present. Nicki Chapman Instagram - Smiling & Grateful 🙏 It’s been 5 years since my brain tumour surgery, today is the anniversary. We called him Burt. Thankful for the care I received, thankful for my GP & the A&E dept who knew something was seriously wrong but held my hand, thankful for the expert skill & kindness my NHS consultant Mr Peterson and the team at Charing Cross Hospital showed me during & after my operation 🙏 Happy Burt has gone. I’m grateful & thankful. 5 years. Wow. In some respects it feels like yesterday, in others it’s like did this really happen to me? … stored away in my filing cabinet of life. Burt will always will be a part of me & my journey, even though he’s gone. My dark gift as a dear friend once explained. An amazing broadcaster, always so passionate about music & his love of making brilliant radio shone through the decades. A kind, funny & generous man. Grew up listening to the one of only Steve on Radio 1. Was totally enchanted when I used to visit his studios with some of my bands (back in the old plugging days) & adored working with him at R2. Still in shock to be honest, as I’m sure you are… My thoughts go to his family, his many friends & work colleagues over the years, the BBC Radio 2 family & to all the lovely listeners who truly adored him. We will miss you Steve 💔

All glammed & ready for an evening celebrating the best of the best ⭐️ Huge thanks to Tony & the team @warnermusicuk for the best seats in the house & the most brilliant company. Knock out performances from Raye (just the six Brit awards… wow!!) Dua Lipa, Jungle, Rema, Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding … I would say Kylie but sadly Sensible Cinders had to bail as working on Sunday morning so missed our fave ‘Global Icon!’🫢 Danced until my feet hurt, sang until my throat (& Arit’s ears) hurt & laughed all night. Froze as it was freeezing outside but no complaints from me! It seems you don’t mind me being away & want to see more of life on the high seas 🌊🚢 Evening dress from @marksandspencer Shoes & bag @zara Earrings @carouseljewels Extra points for not looking at my feet too much whilst walking & talking down stairs… On each leg of the QM2 voyage they have a gala night. Sometimes 2 & it seems that nearly everyone decides to go glam! Walking around the ship & seeing the guests in all their finery makes me think of years gone by when this was the norm. Glorious (back to normal smart attire/civies every other night). If you don’t fancy dressing up, no pressure at all. This ship is stunning, over 1,130ft in length, it’s also one of the longest at sea & features a deep draught for a smooth and comfortable ride (I cut & paste that bit). A glimpse of Alistair & his husband Daniel’s home on the South Coast. Off grid (yes really) happy & privy to the most incredible views!! It’s the most beautiful of locations & as creatives, a constant source of inspiration 💙 Will be featured on a future @escape_country show - coming soon. Glorious On a side note, the boys were busy preparing their home not only for us, but also an exhibition they are holding for over 30 local artists this weekend - stunning ceramics, jewellery, paintings, clothing etc plus tea & cake. Working with the local artistic community & giving others a chance to exhibit & sell their beautiful work. We bought some stunning mugs & vases yesterday 😊 If you are in the #newhaven area (and OMG weather today is beautiful again!!) it’s a few minutes walk towards the beach from the South Hill Barn Car Park. Although we stayed in Southampton 😉 First chance to see this brand new addition to the Cunard family & she didn’t disappoint. Stunning cabins (I’ll post a guided tour), a rich mix of restaurants to choose from, first class theatre (where I’ll be speaking soon🤞), entertainment aplenty, gym for those who wish to work out (can’t beat the view, it changes every minute) spa, bar, shopping … plus you get to cruise the oceans in style. What’s not to love? This really is the next level in sumptuous cruising. I got a small flavour of what a modern ship offers and will I be back? Nicki Chapman Instagram - It’s A No Brainer Today marks the beginning of the Brain Tumour Awareness Month with @thebraintumourcharity highlighting the desperate need for further investment into research & the need for a National Brain Tumour Strategy. Yesterday 34 of us stood together in the pouring rain in Parliament Square Gardens to honour the 34 individuals diagnosed with a brain tumour every single day. Back in Spring 2019 I was one of those people More people under the age of 40 (inc children) die of a brain tumour than any other cancer. A shocking fact. Please sign the open letter in the biog of @thebraintumourcharity & be part of the solution. Every life counts. Every day matters. Every signature will bring us closer to the change we all need. And thanks to you lot for loving my little ensemble. Not quite little, let’s be honest, 25 in total. Although not all mine 😆🧥🥼 So back to the final… and the winner is (move over Ant & Dec) 💥This vintage coat from @dkny 💥Fanfare music please … Bought years & years ago & still going strong. First time feature on 25 Days of Coatmas I think & according to the numbers on reels, won by a country mile 🧡 Second place goes to my @lkbennettlondon green beauty with faux fur removal glamorous collar (I think the train announcement was a brucey bonus 📣) followed in third place by the walking talking teddy bear from @bimbaylola. Slightly too large but hey. I like roomy. Co star Honey (gorgeous 🐶) may have been the clincher adding extra likes. Not included here but loved by you & me was my brand new dusty pink @lkbennettlondon coat (dreamy) which got so many comments, it could bring out it’s own ‘I adore this coat’ book 💗 Just a bit of fun, also a small important reminder that a coat is not just for Christmas, look after it. Store it well. When the friendship dies please introduce to a new owner - friend, family member or a charity shop. Our lovely buyer (who brought along her smashing mum) was looking for a country home for her & her young son close to their family. Beautiful homes in some stunning villages. We also visited a past Escapee who made the move from West London to this part of the world. And has never looked back ❤️ For all you horse lovers, we visited Olympic dressage silver medalist & trainers @spencerwiltondressage & @darrenhicksdressage at their new stables in Oxfordshire. I love this ‘flashback’ feature in their Saturday magazine, didn’t ever expect to be the one being featured ☺️ 🙏 Anyone else remember this look? Anyone else recreating with this 80/90s revival each weekend 😂 Who still has a ‘loose’ perm which never ever drops… however much you hoped it would. The wide tooth comb, water spray (normally used for house plants) to keep those fried curls, gallons of hairspray & Vo5 oil you heated up in a glass of luke warm water before applying. Oh those memories… One of the best shoots I have ever done. Yep it’s pouring with rain & I feel a pang of regret coming home 😊🤣 Namibia 🇳🇦 ➡️ Cape Town 🇿🇦 the next part of our girls on tour tour. Franschhoek you stole our hearts (and our livers) with all that amazing wine & ‘champagne’ or club classic!! Our gorgeous friends Izak & Annamaria invited us to stay & gave us the best tour of the wine region. Never knew about this area & would thoroughly recommend a few days here at least. Add it onto your garden route tour… Truly stunning Camps Bay for incredible views & beach never disappoints. Nicki Chapman Instagram - Namibia ❤️ 🇳🇦 Left the ship in Walvis Bay to experience our first ever Desert Safari with @travelwithvictor @vision_tours_safaris - incredible. The Namib desert is the oldest in the world. Victory our guide showed us just some of its highlights ✨ mind blowing. It’s beauty, its expanse, its extremes, its heat! Stayed at Death Valley Lodge for some desert luxury, a shower & fabulous local food Dune 45 (took an hour to climb in the dark for that sunrise), a valley cut off by the ever growing dunes called DeadVlie & Sossusvlei Fabulous experience & would thoroughly recommend. We paid in full (not an ad) Victory is passionate about his beautiful stunning country & we felt we had the best experience with him by our side 🙏 Thank you Victory NB stayed @marriotthotels Protea in Walvis Bay. We were joined by @officialpollywalker fresh off the Bridgerton Garden (we also found some original props from Lady Whistledown @bridgertonnetflix) bumped into my favourite @mrmichaelball, @racheldethame joined us for the Chelsea Clinic & a photo with Elise, who looks after me every day on the show ground… patience of a saint 😘 Met the almighty @levirootsmusic earlier in the week who serenaded me in the green room (absolute legend) plus thanks to @botanygeek for more expert advice. It takes a floral army to put on this show, Angellica & I are just a tiny petal but we really do appreciate the whole team. Took hubby last week to @bicestervillage for a belated Christmas pressie shop. We thought we’d wait for the sales & it was definitely worth it. Haven’t been to Bicester for quite a while & what a treat. Apart from the rain but hey, every cloud as they say… not too busy at all! Probs had snow there today 🥶 Had my eye on some great deals so well worth a day out & no spur of the moment purchases. Had a wish list. And stuck to it 👍😊 Before anyone gets too excited … that Missoni bag contained …. wait for it…. A towel🤣 Thanks to the lovely team at The Apartment for the well earned refreshments 🤣
