Not feeling the best today, but at least last round of chemo went better than my first round so I will take it. I feel so tired and weak but I've never had such strong urge to keep drawing, so I might have pushed my body a little too far yesterday.... I've made a list of all these old artwork I want to redo for an artbook so I'm slowly working through that. I've been cracking jokes on twitter but, well, tbh I'm pretty stressed haha... though, I'm already pretty nihilistic so I really just need to get over my mortality haha...easier said than done tho xD. Uhh....well, I guess I don't have to worry about recycling anymore, my emission's about to get cut real short lmao. Still gotta crack jokes or it's just sad man lol • that's all I have to say right now. I appreciate all the support on twitter and people becoming my patron is just so sweet, thank you guys so much. I apologize my condition might only get worse before it gets better though, I still have a lot of pain problems right now actually...i think that's the worst part of this though, is the pain. god. I'm so tired. • edit: I don't JUST have cancer, I ALSO have a severe heart condition and I'm on a LOT of heart medication which I need to live, so please refrain from making medical advice unless you're an oncologist, cardiologist, or both. Qing Han Instagram - [Flowering Wounds] • Sometimes I like to pretend my blue and purple hospital bruises are little galaxies 🌌 • • //health update// So I haven't really been updating things here on insta, sorry; it's just easier to update stuff on twitter and patreon xD;;. Basically I had my first chemo session; it made my body have some pretty bad fluid retention, so I ended up gaining about 7kg of liquid in my body and they had to transfer me to the emergency room. It took about a week for them to finally remove this liquid cyst that my body gained from the chemo, and the liquid was 2L lmao. I was in so much pain for a week it's kinda ridiculous tbh.... but yeah, I got discharged from the hospital last week and my next round of chemo is coming up next week. I hope there's no repeat of what happened omfg D;;;. docs said they're gonna be a lot more careful about fluid retention this time so...fingers crossed >__<~ but hey, I'm still alive! yay. xD

Edit2: I give up 😂~ all these comments without reading the post.. • 📍Jokes aside, but I do also wanna talk a bit about art guide resources and what to be careful of. I know a few artists have talked about this, and I just wanna give my 2 cents. • I don't know if it's still trending but a month or so ago i kept seeing these dos and don'ts. Aside from the fact that nothing is actually broken down and explained in-depth during the videos, there are also a lot of artists out there giving tutorials when their own fundamentals are lacking a bit. • 📌📌Edit: THIS IS FOR PEOPLE LOOKING FOR ART-HELP RESOURCES. If you wanna do your own thing, just do it.📌📌 • Don't get me wrong, it's really nice that people are trying to help others, but often there are bad habits and traps that beginner artists fall into, and it's a lot harder to change a habit than to be taught correctly the first time 'round; so when they find a tutorial that teaches them the wrong thing because the person giving the tutorial doesn't have a solid foundation themselves, it can often lead people astray. (note that even stylized art requires a solid foundation. There are rules in art, and stylized art bend it to their will; but you can't bend the rules without knowing what they are, because you'll end up breaking the rules instead.). I'm saying this as someone who wasted years on bad tutorials... Every resource online should be taken with a large grain of salt. Be careful of what you're following, especially if you're a beginner. I'd say art books that have been recommended by professional artists are mostly reliable. Fundamental books like anatomy or colour theory books will help you a TON. Make sure you check reviews if you're looking on Amazon. There are also cheap online courses these days like Schoolism that can also really help (not sponsored lol) Again, this is for ppl who are looking for art resources and aiming for certain art goals. I hope I don't come off as condescending or anything, and I hope everyone can find good resources that can help them on their art journey. Good luck guys, and just keep drawing! ✏️🎨👊

Sorta~ hopefully~ loll I kinda put stuff up on my patreon now :3~ link in my profile 👆👆🙏 mostly just sketches and wip tho, just one tier, $1 xD~ I decided to set it up when my medications jumped to $400/month o( ❛ᴗ❛ )o;;;; • Sorry I've been away for so long without any update..I've kinda got some anxiety about not being able to draw as much as before and it was easier to just not thinking about the social media aspect of it all. ------------ A lil update on my health: Got discharged from the hospital last week and tried to finish this asap. Went in for abdominal pain but my heart was beating so fast in intervals they kept me in the cardiac ICU for close watch cause apparently it was really dangerous for a bit xD;; They also found a lump mass in my body and they're not sure if it's cancer or not. The pathologist team at the hospital can't agree on whether it's sarcoma cancer or a benign tumour I guess? So, that's been fun lol. It's weird how my body is like, really trying to kill itself 😂😂 BC Cancer was supposed to contact me last week but they're not very fast at contacting people I guess? XD -- Fingers crossed its not cancer cause my heart is still a mess and I've no idea how chemotherapy would mesh with my heart medications. I take soooo much heart meds now sometimes I worry for my liver and kidney lol, I hope they can take the meds xD~ I wish I had better news tho lol. I'm kinda still in medical limbo....it's like I've stopped in time to work on surviving and watching everything passing me by...kinda depressing sometimes haha...sorry uwu. But still alive tho. That's a plus. Qing Han Instagram - Migration 🐋🌃 • • • Trying for a calm vibe 😆 Did this a few months ago for my Patrons :D~ Thanks for all the support there~! 💕💕 ~ Happy thanksgiving American peeps~ ~ a lil update. good news first - I got a CT scan earlier this week and preliminary results looks good; the scar hasn't grown and maybe it might even be moving back...maybe? xD. I have noticed my physical scars from all my surgeries and stuff is actually becoming visibly smaller, so hopefully that means the scar in my heart that's trying to kinda kill me is also pulling back and getting smaller. So I'll keep taking my $300/month pill hahaha. Again, thank you to patrons who can help out<3 😀 • • a bit of a bad news - all of the doctors at BC cancer thinks the mass in my body is sarcoma, which is....not great. Sarcoma is a rare soft tissue cancer. They need to do more tests to be sure though, which is good. I really hope I don't have it though cause, I swear to god, if I get two unrelated rare diseases piled on me it is TOO MUCH. Though it's still blocking a lot of my heart arteries haha, so moving fast is still quite difficult. There's new meds my doctors want me to try, but they're crazy expensive, like $300 a month expensive @-@;;, on top of the meds I already need....So I kinda finally started a patreon. Qing Han Instagram - Empty ⭕️ • • • So I took a break from social media for about a month. This really just was a doodle for myself and I wasn't even going to post it, but you know how sometimes messy doodles just kinda solidify... Well, anyways, stress got the better of me and I pretty much had to shut down and do something else for a bit. And by something else I mean nothing of significance at all lol. I wish things had gotten better, but it hasn't...my mom's white blood cell count actually LOWERED, and she still insists on working -__-;;. My granddad's tumour has...migrated... I'll need to go back to China soon to see him. My mom's preparing me for the worst and it's kinda all just happening at once? The doctors here are thinking of sending me to the Mayo clinic in the US because my heart disease is so unusual, and the scar is STILL growing according to the CT reports...And US medical fees are so much I dunno if I'd wanna go or just die and save some money for my aging parents 😂😂 Anyways, I'm not sure how "back" I am, but I'm trying to get back to art and maybe draw my stress out haha...but tbh it felt better gaming and not thinking about anything. Haha, sorry, I feel like every time I post online it's always so negative. I wish I was more positive these days~ Well, I'm more positive when I'm gaming and cooking? Qing Han Instagram - 🌓🌒🌑 🌑 • Funnily enough, i started the initial sketch for this before i came into the hospital..xD;; • Tl;dr: Im hospitalized again for this unknown heart disease and may need open heart surgery...for the 4th time....Grandfather also passed this weekend, so not a good pileup... • So.....it's been a while for those of you guys who don't follow me along on insta-story or twitter~ I've been hospitalized over a week ago due to an ongoing heart disease development. (Doc says it could be the same stuff that made my heart valve fuck up) Basically, one of my major heart valve has a 90% blockage from an abnormal tissue growth that's still ongoing and no one knows what's going on or what it is. It's apparently pretty dangerous where if the vein blocks completely, I'd probably die (or so the doctor says when I complained about being in the hospital hahaha). So it's pretty severe and the doctor wants me to prepare for another open heart surgery for a bypass to be put in, though I begged for them to try a stent first even if everyone's doubtful it'll work....i mean, stent is fairly non-invasive procedure, whereas open heart causes so much pain I've already been pretty traumatized from my last 3-in-a-row.....>__<;; Actually, my doctors have also suggested the possibilities of a heart transplant if they can't find a way to stop the growth and since the growth is only in my heart...but I really don't want to think about that...I'm so stressed out these days hahahaha...like, I'll just get waves of anxiety and heaviness in my chest, and palpitations...it doesn't help that my grandfather also just passed away a few days ago. what a terrible pile-on. Trying to be more positive though! Right now I'm in shitty limbo where I got to wait for procedures and tests to be scheduled and for the doctors to figure things out more from those results. For those of you guys who's seen my instagram stories and sent me messages, thank you lots. I'll probably keep twitter updated cause i'm too lazy to double-update on two social medias constantly. Qing Han Instagram - art blocked • • • get it? 👀😂 hey guys, it's been a while~! haha sorry... I've been a little...blocked up? lmao. I'm actually really nervous posting this cause it's been so long hahaha. it's kind of a combination of just my body being so tired all the time and me just not really wanting to draw or think about anything much. I kinda got a little sick when I visited China last month, and I guess it really kinda broke my body a little bit lmao. I hope I don't have to go back any time soon, but my grandfather has advanced lung cancer right now...I guess we'll see. I really hope he can still be here the next time I'm ready to travel again. ~ A little update on my heart disease though, the doctors still don't really know what's going on. The scar tissue in my heart has grown and so my heart function has gone down again lol. It kinda feels like pre-surgery when I walk uphill tbh. I get this major chest pain when I walked two flights of stairs the other day. (the doctor almost wanted to hospitalize me lmao....thankfully I don't have to go back and live in the hospital..for now...T_T;;..i hate the hospital so much lmao)...actually I'm getting a little chest discomfort rn cause I always get nervous posting my art 😂😂😭 On the other hand though, I was finally prescribed a medication that they want me to try. No one knows if it'll work, since my condition is so rare the pathologists can't find anything at all in north america's database, but it's better than nothing hahaha. I guess at this point I'm not...the most optimistic person? but I'm also....really tired.... But at least I'm alive right? Even if I feel super useless for not drawing as much or working...sorry, that's just personal stuff. I always wanna complain in these but then I immediately feel super bad for complaining lmaoo. I've just refined (I hope lol) the way I draw hands now. Feel free to use for practice. Tip: do 10 hands for 20 days and you'll improve them for sure! I used to have trouble drawing feet but after doing 100 of them, I got much better and faster at them. And don't forget, you have your very own reference right at your fingertips. Get it? Qing Han Instagram - 🧜‍♀️🌺 Rough sketch w colour testin before moving onto watercolor version. _(:_」∠)_ • I'm posting more wip on Twitter so follow me there? 😆 • • • Just saw the pre heart transplant clinic nurses actually haha, I'm actually resting in the hospital lobby rn (´･_･`)....the stress woke me up way before normal and I forgot to take my heart slowing meds before I left, so now I can't walk too fast or my body hurts. Oops. I'm seeing the pre transplant clinic Doctor tmr, and I guess that'll be fun? Lol. Hope I'll remember my meds at least tmr. This doesn't mean I'll for sure have a heart transplant tho. In fact, I really, really, really hope I don't. Cause, well, there's the possibly dying thing (fun fact, 60% of ppl survive 10 years...lol) but also food restrictions like no raw food like sashimi or medium rare steaks; I heard even some raw veggies I need to be careful of too, I guess like the e coli outbreak on lettuce a while ago would probably be pretty bad for transplant patients...so, uh, fingers crossed there'll be some meds that can help me D;;. But the doctors just want me to be prepared for that possibility. She basically said that they can't keep cutting me open to remove the scar tissue building up lol. I guess medical risks rises every time I have heart surgery xD;; • Tbh I thought I would try to draw more, but I ended up having back pain every other day and it's just...not great. Qing Han Instagram - "Breathless sometimes it feels like I can't breath..." #tbt • It's official, I need to get another open heart surgery, and will happen next week. and coincidentally, my birthday's also next week, so THAT'S GREAT. The best present, really. Everything I didn't want happen is now happening hahahaha. The next thing I don't want to happen is a heart transplant, and at this rate, I can see it happening. the mortality rate statistically....57% survival after 10 years..?..that number...."orz Understandably, a lot of people seem to think my anxiety is due to the actual surgery, but i'll be honest, it's the pain post-surgery that triggers my trauma more than death. • So I shared my experience with post-surgery in detail on twitter, but cause of the word limit, I'm only going to share a part of it here: For the first 24 hours, you're in the ICU. You wake up a little bit, and there's a bit of pain but mostly you're high on morphine.The pain slowly sets in as the hours go on tho, and you're connected to all sorts of tubes to help you breath better, but it feels extremely uncomfortable. You can't move. You're connected to a urinary catheter. If you're unlucky, they might've given you too much antibiotics during the surgery and you'll get diarrhea, but you won't be able to get up, and the shame and pain of everything just overcomes you. While in the ICU, you'll be constantly thirsty; the nurse on shift will feed to you tiny ice cubes when you finally manage to make a sound at them. You wish that you can just pass out as pain sets in, but you can't. Afterwards, you get moved upstairs into a cardiac ward. If you're lucky, you'll share a room with people who won't snore. Everything hurts. You're given a pillow to hold your chest at all times when you move, like holding your organs in lol. Essentially, every single movement that involves your upper body will hurt for the next month or so, making it hard to do anything, like sleeping well... You're essentially invalid for that time, and will need a caretaker to help you out of bed, out of a steep chair, etc. Thanks for reading and for all your messages and support. Srsly I'm mostly alone in the hospital so they really help.
Qing Han Instagram - Flower drops💧🌸 • • • This was an gouache watercolour experiment on hot-press watercolour paper, since I've never used hot-press before, and it really kinda morphed from just an eye into a full face sorta lmao ~ I filmed the process for this painting, though editing takes such a long time I'm not sure if I'm up to it, since my back pain is pretty bad. Also, I found out the reason for my back pain is cause of my heart surgeries hahaha. Apparently during open heart surgery, they kinda bend the ribs open and since the rib goes around to the back and the spine, it can fuck up the back. Sometimes ribs can even be broken so the surgeon can get to the heart better...so yeah, massages doesn't really help me anymore either so that's fun lol. I kinda want to try topical cannabis oil haha. I'll ask the next time I see my cardiologist. I've been a little stressed. No surprises there haha. The doctors don't know what to do with me or my heart disease, I'm not getting call backs even after doing tests, but most of all as time goes on I feel more and more useless and like...a waste of space...? It's just this feeling of guilt, inadequacy of not being able to do anything to help anyone or even earn a decent living, instead living off my parents because I'm too sick and stressed and busy with rehab stuff to work right now. It doesn't help that my mom's injured her arm and was diagnosed with low white blood cell (low immune system) a few weeks ago...we're like two sick ppl taking care of each other lmao "orz so yah I've been avoiding social media a bit...I drew this one thing that started off nice and sunny and as my mood worsened it turned sad 😂. I was randomly bursting into tears and shit, and that's not fun lol... I'm so tired. Thanks for all your support and kind words though....but I'm so tired...of just, like, everything hahaha... I might be having more heart problems again, since my symptoms seems very much like referred pain where my heart is having a problem and it shows up as muscular pain...I do sometimes have muscular pain when I get anxious and my heart pounds hard...😢. I'm actually really stressed and scared these days but sometimes I'll be too tired to think too hard about it haha... Got a heart exam scheduled for Feb 21-22, so I'll know for sure after that. I'm going to Japan near the end of March so this is gonna be a headache....I hope it'll be okay...but I'm going anyways =___= argghhhhhhhggggh. I deserve this vacation. Imma go no matter what. I'm so tired of going to different clinics and seeing different specialists fffffffffffff "orz. Im also just so tired. And of course my cardiologist now says that she's not sure if this pain is related to my heart or not and that she has more tests for me...like, I went to her 2-3 months ago with this problem, got tests done and was told my heart is fine, but now they say they're not sure???! And then I gotta do more tests?? I'm so tired; trying to work out every morning which is also why I have less time to draw my own stuff.....but I'm still so tired. Qing Han Instagram - This is a little late but thank you guys for 1.5M~! 💕⭐️ • • I haven't been feeling too well these days, and there's been a lot of problems with my medication. I'm getting so many blood tests again my arms are super bruised and fulla holes 😭😭;;;~ on the other hand my super depressing mood kinda made me sit down and just concentrate on drawing....so...yay...? "orz But yeah, my INR is fluctuating really badly for the past month and my doctor's receptionist is such a condescending b....😫. Super stressed out ;-; • (INR is basically a measurement for how long it takes for blood clots to form. the higher it is the slower it'll form which means you'll bleed longer. I need thinner blood because of my mechanical heart valve, but it's very hard to balance sometimes...and there are dangers if I'm not in my target range ;_;...worst cases are stroke or hemorrhaging, ...but that's only worst case scenario xD;;....still stressed tho D; ) Sorry. Needed to rant >.<;;

Aside from the fact that nothing is actually broken down and explained in-depth during the videos, there are also a lot of artists out there giving tutorials when their own fundamentals are lacking a bit. • 📌📌Edit: THIS IS FOR PEOPLE LOOKING FOR ART-HELP RESOURCES. If you wanna do your own thing, just do it.📌📌 • Don't get me wrong, it's really nice that people are trying to help others, but often there are bad habits and traps that beginner artists fall into, and it's a lot harder to change a habit than to be taught correctly the first time 'round; so when they find a tutorial that teaches them the wrong thing because the person giving the tutorial doesn't have a solid foundation themselves, it can often lead people astray. (note that even stylized art requires a solid foundation. There are rules in art, and stylized art bend it to their will; but you can't bend the rules without knowing what they are, because you'll end up breaking the rules instead.). I'm saying this as someone who wasted years on bad tutorials... Every resource online should be taken with a large grain of salt. Be careful of what you're following, especially if you're a beginner. I'd say art books that have been recommended by professional artists are mostly reliable. Fundamental books like anatomy or colour theory books will help you a TON. Make sure you check reviews if you're looking on Amazon. There are also cheap online courses these days like Schoolism that can also really help (not sponsored lol) Again, this is for ppl who are looking for art resources and aiming for certain art goals. The pathologist team at the hospital can't agree on whether it's sarcoma cancer or a benign tumour I guess? So, that's been fun lol. It's weird how my body is like, really trying to kill itself 😂😂 BC Cancer was supposed to contact me last week but they're not very fast at contacting people I guess? XD -- Fingers crossed its not cancer cause my heart is still a mess and I've no idea how chemotherapy would mesh with my heart medications. I take soooo much heart meds now sometimes I worry for my liver and kidney lol, I hope they can take the meds xD~ I wish I had better news tho lol. I have noticed my physical scars from all my surgeries and stuff is actually becoming visibly smaller, so hopefully that means the scar in my heart that's trying to kinda kill me is also pulling back and getting smaller. So I'll keep taking my $300/month pill hahaha. Sarcoma is a rare soft tissue cancer. They need to do more tests to be sure though, which is good. The doctors here are thinking of sending me to the Mayo clinic in the US because my heart disease is so unusual, and the scar is STILL growing according to the CT reports...And US medical fees are so much I dunno if I'd wanna go or just die and save some money for my aging parents 😂😂 Anyways, I'm not sure how "back" I am, but I'm trying to get back to art and maybe draw my stress out haha...but tbh it felt better gaming and not thinking about anything. (Doc says it could be the same stuff that made my heart valve fuck up) Basically, one of my major heart valve has a 90% blockage from an abnormal tissue growth that's still ongoing and no one knows what's going on or what it is. It's apparently pretty dangerous where if the vein blocks completely, I'd probably die (or so the doctor says when I complained about being in the hospital hahaha). So it's pretty severe and the doctor wants me to prepare for another open heart surgery for a bypass to be put in, though I begged for them to try a stent first even if everyone's doubtful it'll work....i mean, stent is fairly non-invasive procedure, whereas open heart causes so much pain I've already been pretty traumatized from my last 3-in-a-row.....>__<;; Actually, my doctors have also suggested the possibilities of a heart transplant if they can't find a way to stop the growth and since the growth is only in my heart...but I really don't want to think about that...I'm so stressed out these days hahahaha...like, I'll just get waves of anxiety and heaviness in my chest, and palpitations...it doesn't help that my grandfather also just passed away a few days ago. what a terrible pile-on. Trying to be more positive though! Right now I'm in shitty limbo where I got to wait for procedures and tests to be scheduled and for the doctors to figure things out more from those results. I hope I don't have to go back any time soon, but my grandfather has advanced lung cancer right now...I guess we'll see. I really hope he can still be here the next time I'm ready to travel again. ~ A little update on my heart disease though, the doctors still don't really know what's going on. The scar tissue in my heart has grown and so my heart function has gone down again lol. It kinda feels like pre-surgery when I walk uphill tbh. I get this major chest pain when I walked two flights of stairs the other day. (the doctor almost wanted to hospitalize me lmao....thankfully I don't have to go back and live in the hospital..for now...T_T;;..i hate the hospital so much lmao)...actually I'm getting a little chest discomfort rn cause I always get nervous posting my art 😂😂😭 On the other hand though, I was finally prescribed a medication that they want me to try. No one knows if it'll work, since my condition is so rare the pathologists can't find anything at all in north america's database, but it's better than nothing hahaha. I guess at this point I'm not...the most optimistic person? but I'm also....really tired.... But at least I'm alive right? Even if I feel super useless for not drawing as much or working...sorry, that's just personal stuff. I always wanna complain in these but then I immediately feel super bad for complaining lmaoo. The next thing I don't want to happen is a heart transplant, and at this rate, I can see it happening. the mortality rate statistically....57% survival after 10 years..?..that number...."orz Understandably, a lot of people seem to think my anxiety is due to the actual surgery, but i'll be honest, it's the pain post-surgery that triggers my trauma more than death. • So I shared my experience with post-surgery in detail on twitter, but cause of the word limit, I'm only going to share a part of it here: For the first 24 hours, you're in the ICU. You wake up a little bit, and there's a bit of pain but mostly you're high on morphine.The pain slowly sets in as the hours go on tho, and you're connected to all sorts of tubes to help you breath better, but it feels extremely uncomfortable. You can't move. You're connected to a urinary catheter. If you're unlucky, they might've given you too much antibiotics during the surgery and you'll get diarrhea, but you won't be able to get up, and the shame and pain of everything just overcomes you. While in the ICU, you'll be constantly thirsty; the nurse on shift will feed to you tiny ice cubes when you finally manage to make a sound at them. You wish that you can just pass out as pain sets in, but you can't. Afterwards, you get moved upstairs into a cardiac ward. If you're lucky, you'll share a room with people who won't snore. Everything hurts. You're given a pillow to hold your chest at all times when you move, like holding your organs in lol. Essentially, every single movement that involves your upper body will hurt for the next month or so, making it hard to do anything, like sleeping well... You're essentially invalid for that time, and will need a caretaker to help you out of bed, out of a steep chair, etc. Thanks for reading and for all your messages and support. I've been a little stressed. No surprises there haha. The doctors don't know what to do with me or my heart disease, I'm not getting call backs even after doing tests, but most of all as time goes on I feel more and more useless and like...a waste of space...? It's just this feeling of guilt, inadequacy of not being able to do anything to help anyone or even earn a decent living, instead living off my parents because I'm too sick and stressed and busy with rehab stuff to work right now. It doesn't help that my mom's injured her arm and was diagnosed with low white blood cell (low immune system) a few weeks ago...we're like two sick ppl taking care of each other lmao "orz so yah I've been avoiding social media a bit...I drew this one thing that started off nice and sunny and as my mood worsened it turned sad 😂. I was randomly bursting into tears and shit, and that's not fun lol... I'm so tired. Thanks for all your support and kind words though....but I'm so tired...of just, like, everything hahaha... I'm getting so many blood tests again my arms are super bruised and fulla holes 😭😭;;;~ on the other hand my super depressing mood kinda made me sit down and just concentrate on drawing....so...yay...? "orz But yeah, my INR is fluctuating really badly for the past month and my doctor's receptionist is such a condescending b....😫. Super stressed out ;-; • (INR is basically a measurement for how long it takes for blood clots to form. the higher it is the slower it'll form which means you'll bleed longer. I need thinner blood because of my mechanical heart valve, but it's very hard to balance sometimes...and there are dangers if I'm not in my target range ;_;...worst cases are stroke or hemorrhaging, ...but that's only worst case scenario xD;;....still stressed tho D; ) Sorry.
