Varnish doesn’t just protect the art, it also provides a unified surface as various layers and types of paint leave it uneven. But the thing I like the most is that it heightens the vibrance and contrast, almost as if doing an adjustment digitally, but in real life. Painting never feels complete until I seal and varnish it.
This is going to be a variant for X-Men 1 available from Trinity Comics and me. Keep an eye out for the proper announcement.
