That was a worthwhile experiment. First time using acrylic paint on mounted canvas. It really forces you to be looser, which wouldn’t work for my more detailed work, but definitely does for portraits like this. Same technique as most of my work though, so the only difference is the surface. I’ll do more when I have the time. #drdoom #marvel #adigranov

I’m not hating it. It’s actually super enjoyable and very fast. Much faster than paper actually, which is some food for thought…

Kinda strange for me as I am never happy, but I achieved a good balance between my personal and professional art interests. And my technique keeps improving to the point I feel it’s really breaking down limitations of style and mood. I’ve never painted Anti-Venom before. Fun character, but rather simple, so I decided to try to make him as creepy as possible by layering all kinds of veins, textures and translucency. It’s really fun actually, just slathering layers of medium and dragging around transparent shades of grey and building up the depth to his gross skin. #antivenom #marvel #adigranov
