Honeybees never cease to amaze me. Because I’m sure someone will ask, this is a Flow Hive. I bought it years ago, just to see if it would work, and it pretty much does as advertised. I think it’s good to learn how to harvest honey traditionally first, and then try one of these if you have a couple of hives. (My other hive is healthy and strong, but I’m not going to harvest for a little while yet.) Nothing compares to the embodied experience of that initial burst of flavor and joy when you’re eating honey made by your own bees, from your own property.

Sometimes I feel like the luckiest dad in the world, getting to work with each of my kids professionally in different capacities. Thankful that the church in Lancaster booked this incredible songwriter to share the bill with me tonight! @skyepetersonmusic

What a blast to play in Bar Harbor, Maine last night with @thomas_griffith and @brandon_hays. The Criterion Theater was beautiful and full of joyful people–theaters like that are my very favorite places to play. We had a full day to enjoy this beautiful part of the world: to walk across the land bridge at low tide to Bar Island and sketch for a while, eat some lobster, and hang with good friends in perfect weather. It was my last concert in the US till the fall, and a fine way to end the first half of 2024. (Thanks, Boomershine, for the photos!)

So good to be back in Oxford for a few days before heading up to #hutchmootuk2024! The Eagle and Child is still closed, but someone has in fact bought it and is going to reopen it one of these days. Sketched along the Thames, then did a Sneaky Book Signing of the complete @wingfeathersaga at @blackwellbooks.

Something wonderful is happening tonight! We are offering a free live stream of episode one of season two of the @WingfeatherSaga. It’ll be up for 24 hours, so we hope you can join us every Friday night for the next seven weeks. You can head over to angel.com for more information, but I’m pretty sure it will be up on YouTube and Facebook as well. I’m so proud of the team for the work they did on this season. It is epic and moving and amazing to see.
Releasing 8/13! Big thanks to y’all for preordering THE PRINCE OF YORSHA DOON through @therabbitroom. 1,000 of them are signed and ready to go! @jtraftonart adapted my short story for children and Kristina Kister (@nichtlicht) beautifully illustrated it. And last week I had the pleasure of reading the audiobook, which gave me an excuse to employ my Oskar N. Reteep voice. What a joy to have a granddaughter to dedicate it to.

The Prince of Yorsha Doon tells the story of Safiki—already beloved by thousands of Wingfeather fans—as he emerges from his life of solitary freedom and becomes an accidental hero. Life on the streets of the bustling and mysterious city of Yorsha Doon can be hard, but Safiki loves being independent, free from the complications of personal relationships. But when he bumps into a very strange stranger who’s being far too conspicuous with the valuable book he’s carrying, Safiki finds himself at the center of a noble but foolhardy rescue and discovers that he can be braver than he imagined—and that friendship might be worth the risk after all. – Team AP
