My buddy @brianschatz and l have some thoughts about JD Vance’s really creepy idea to give less votes to people without kids. Give a watch.
When I walked into the CBD store Malik works at on my Walk Across Connecticut, he was shocked. “A Senator from Pakistan would have 20 people with him! You have no one!” He’s been in America for one year and loves it. “Every leader is corrupt back home. Here at least I have a shot.”
Norm wanted to talk to me about guns. Such a nice guy who was so interested to talk to me. He supports background checks on all gun sales but doesn’t want an assault weapons ban. We politely disagreed. See – it’s possible!
Last night, I went on @MSNBC to explain why @kamalaharris and Democrats are going on offense on immigration and border security.
I had been shadowing Chris’s UPS truck on my walk for about a mile and I finally caught up w him to say hello. He loves working for UPS, in large part because the workers have a union. Good pay, benefits. Even the part time workers – like his son – get health care.
Starting Day 4 – last day! – of my yearly Walk Across Connecticut.
Just finished Day 3 of my annual Walk Across Connecticut. I met a bunch of people today with whom I had political disagreements. And it got me to thinking about how we shouldn’t let our politics define all our relationships. #WalkCT
Day 3 of my annual Walk Across Connecticut starts in Willimantic. Another beautiful day!!
Thanks to Senator Flexer, Mayor DeVivo and other friends from northeast Connecticut who came to a little happy hour we organized at Willimantic Brewing Company tonight at the end of Day 2 of my annual Walk Across Connecticut. #WalkCT

Libraries are so vital right now as we struggle to keep alive places where people can find community. During my walk through Norwich today I stopped into the Otis Library to take an impromptu tour and say thanks to the staff.

Barged into Nathan Hale Farm this morning before business hours and met Jeff and Carrie. They are like “farm rescuers” who target farms that are about to go out of business and take them over for a few years to turn them around. The fascinating people I met on this walk!!

Still walking across Connecticut. These guys were talking about building new waste to energy capacity for farms in eastern Connecticut. They were eager for more federal help for small farms.
Stopped into say hi to the team at the Ledyard Board of Education. One of the biggest topics that people raise with me on my Walk Across Connecticut is making sure our schools have the resources they need.
Climate change really disrupts the northeastern winter economy. On my walk today I met Chris who runs a snowplow repair business. But with no snow, there are few repairs. But he’s a third generation entrepreneur in Franklin, so he adapts – he customizes and rehabs vintage jeeps.
