After a long hard season throwing down on my projects here in Catalunya, my body has been feeling it. Makes me excited for summer #psicobloc season just around the corner! Nothing like the freedom climbing above the Mediterranean Sea ! @prana @tenayaclimbing 📸 @giancolafoto

The season has come to an end for me on my project “Le Blond” in Oliana. Its been a great run and I feel like I made some important progress. One of the hardest things I’ve seriously tried with out a doubt. One of the biggest challenges was building my power endurance to be able to climb the bottom (9b) section easily to be able to imagine linking it with the upper boulder problem. The daily grind on something so hard for me can be mentally really challenging and one thing that was really cool to explore was working to celebrate the small progressions (no matter how small they might be). I’m really happy how I was able to use this approach to stay psyched day in day out through the last 4 months. It’s been great to bring this thing back to life after a number of years off it and on the same note find my own personal groove and purpose within climbing. I’m very happy to have built a strong base in this climb and I plan use that to keep the focus for the coming seasons. Thanks to everyone who has been a part of my journey out there this season. I look forward to throwing down with you all again in the next season! For those of you interested in the difficulty of Le Blond have a look at the breakdown from Darth Grader. I have to say , that grades are the least sexy part of our sport but for those of us that live and breathe climbing it’s pretty interesting to geek out on that stuff and Darth Grader is an interesting tool to give a bit of objectivity to it all. This year psicobloc season started very early . I met up with @prana athlete @ross.fulkerson for a couple days in Mallorca mid January . Was a real pleasure to show him some of my favorite spots. As fellow Californian, growing up as a climber but also with the Pacific Ocean as your backdrop, Mallorca brings those two worlds together like no other place I’ve ever been. It was great to see him take it all in and make the connection. @ross.fulkerson I look forward to meeting up again later this year above the sea! Check out his YouTube channel for a film about his trip! I also managed a pretty epic FA (picture1) probably around 8c. Amazing to keep finding new gems year after year. It’s a left leaning open book feature. Still trying to think of a good name. Any ideas? 📸 @taylor._shaffer
