Howard. I liked playing Howard because every move he made was to help or make someone happy or comfortable, but he’s such a doofus that it often had the opposite effect. A selfless moron. Good stuff. .. #goodwerks #goodworks #youtube #comedy #series #actor #funny #webseries

Auditioning can be an incredibly frustrating and heartbreaking enterprise, frankly. It’s so damn hard to even get the audition in the first place and, in this era of self tapes, you sit for hours on end working and performing in a relative vacuum, only to just send it off into cyberspace without any sort of acknowledgment that it was received, let alone watched or considered. There’s more hollow rejection and loneliness in the business of acting than before, it seems to me. But every now and then, you score yourself three self tapes in a row with three unique characters and challenges, and you remember the fun of it all.

Throwback to a commercial shoot a few years ago…
Looking for joy in the #didntbookitchallenge from @courtneycunninghammmm and the acting community… … Share a great audition you didn’t book, I’d love to hear about it! This was one of the first tapes I got to do at the start of the lockdown times. I’d had a good booking hit rate up to this point, but self taping was pretty unknown territory. I didn’t know the “rules,” or what-have-you, so I just set the camera up and had fun! A real unhinged role, fun to play, and it got me a callback! As the self tape days have worn on, I’ve gotten super into my head about following rules and “doing it right,” trying to get ahead of casting. Death. This hilarious scene about an ordinary man losing his mind in a bathroom reminds me to JUST HAVE FUN.
