It’s one of the most exhilarating experiences but also one of the most challenging because it requires you to authentically mine every ounce of who you are to breathe life into a character that only originally exists as an idea in the mind of a writer and eventually as words on a page.
Bringing a character to life is the very act of creating which is what can make us feel most alive! To be able to create, however, requires the discipline to maintain healthy boundaries against self judgement and the idea that we have to ‘do it a certain way.’
Pursuing perfection is also a creation killer so it’s imperative to focus on the pure act of creating, over and over again as the goal, not focusing merely on the result.
Thus, whether it’s acting or anything else in life that you spend your time doing, do it because you love it. Do it for how you feel free to create your version of whatever it is you’re creating. And do it with a pure heart in service of your soul purpose and in service of others.
Being that naked so to speak to show the world who you are can be terrifying but what I’ve learned is that the more you accept and embrace who you are and your so called ‘imperfections’ without self judgement, the more freedom you have access to, to be vulnerable with confidence and grace. With this mindset, you have the chance to improve and have way more fulfillment in the process.
Everyone has a story and everyone has something to contribute to create amazing things in life. If you judge yourself or others, however, for not doing or being what you think is the ‘right’ way or the ‘perfect’ way, you’re likely to miss out on the best the world has to offer.
Just my two cents on a Friday afternoon. Hope this helps anyone who may be doubting themselves or their dreams.
