Shortly after the June 1979 release of the DJ single, Yassassin was released in The Netherlands (backed by Repetition) and Turkey (backed by Red Money) in July 1979.
The unique Dutch single edit of Yassassin was reissued on Re:Call 3 from the A New Career In A New Town box set.
Yassassin features an additional Bowie vocal in the fadeout of the 2017 Tony Visconti Mix of Lodger from the same box set. If you’re not familiar with this mix of Lodger, you really should check it out.
The cover of the Turkish release featured an Andy Kent live shot from 1978, while the sleeve for The Netherlands was a variation of the UK DJ sleeve with the image flipped.
FOOTNOTE: Yassassin is Turkish for long live.
