David So Instagram – Where you train is as important as how much imo. I still think @savantyoung is one of the best coaches in the LA area if you want good work! Clearly I’m not a fighter, but that don’t mean I can’t get the knowledge and learn the technique like I am one.
In my DMS people ask where they should train and how do you know if a spot is good to train at? This is what I ask myself as a hobbyist:
1. Look at the students and the fighters in the gym. What do they look like? What is the culture? If the students are trash so is the coach imo.
2. Just because you’re looking for cardio it doesn’t mean you can’t learn proper technique. (Listen to the corrections) Do they teach you or do they just want you in and out the door?
3. What is their system? Does it work for you? Do they have one?
Where you spend your time and money is important when learning so beware of MCDOJOS! WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR IN A GYM?! Also… he hurt my chest at the end…
