Denis O’Hare Instagram – This is me going full on historical nerd. It’s what Hugo calls Denis-ing. We went to La Manga which is a very fun strip of sand in the Murcia region of Spain. We dropped Declan off with our friends and their son and then Hugo and I took off to Cartagena, which is 30 minutes away. I was excited to come here because, I know quite a bit about the Carthaginians and their history in Spain and Hannibal’s ultimate showdown with Rome. In our latest play, The Song of Rome, Lisa Peterson and I have a section on Dido and Aeneas. We love Queen Dido – the Carthaginian queen. We first stopped by the Roman amphitheater, which was built at the direction of Augustus. We then visited the remains of the Punic wall and this crazy crypt.
