Vandaag kreeg ik een wake-up call dat we nog een lange weg te gaan hebben!
Vandaag op klaarlichte dag ben ik aangevallen door 4 jonge jongens terwijl ik in de bus (niet in Drag) zat onderweg naar Amsterdam Centraal. Ze maakte beledigende opmerkingen en bedreigden me met een wapen terwijl ze het ook nog eens filmden. Zelfs toen ik probeerde afstand te nemen van de situatie door weg te gaan, gingen ze door en bleven ze mij duwen. Terwijl ik probeerde weg te komen, schrok ik het meest dat er maar één lieve Marokkaanse dame voor mij opkwam – in een hele bus vol mensen. Niemand die iets zei of deed!
Toen de bus eindelijk bij mijn halte op het centraal station aankwam, voelde ik dat de jongens me volgden. Een van hen had al aanstalten gemaakt in de bus terwijl ik meer naar de voorkant van de bus liep. Op centraal rende een van hen naar me toe en schopte me op de grond. Vier vrouwen schoten me te hulp en confronteerde de jongens terwijl ze wegrenden. Godzijdank, want het had heel anders kunnen aflopen. Helaas weet ik hun namen niet omdat ik in shock was! Maar als een van hen dit leest.. Heel erg bedankt en stuur me aub een bericht ❤️
Afgezien van de schrik gaat het goed met me! Ik aarzelde om aangifte te doen omdat ik een persoon in the public eye ben. Maar als trots lid van onze community en Pride Ambassadeur kan ik niet zwijgen! Deze haataanvallen moeten stoppen! Ik weet dat veel leden uit onze LHBTQ+ leden vaak uit angst zwijgen of dat er weinig aan gedaan word wanneer hen geweld wordt aangedaan. Dat mogen we niet meer toelaten!
Ik heb besloten om naar de politie te gaan en hen de beelden te laten zien die ik van het incident heb gemaakt.
Niemand mag zoiets vreselijks meemaken, en deze laffe acties zouden bestraft moeten worden.

Amsterdam Pride en Amsterdam Queer Pride is over minder dan 2 weken
Als mensen zich nog steeds afvragen waarom een Pride nodig is in een land als Nederland, laat deze week een voorbeeld zijn waarom het nog heel erg hard nodig is.
Niet alleen door wat er met mij is gebeurd, maar ook de walgelijke transfobische uitspraken naar onze prachtige nieuwe Miss Nederland, Rikkie Kolle.
Veel mensen hebben mij gevraagd om een update en hoe ik mij voel. Ik ben oké. De politie werkt momenteel hard aan het onderzoek van mijn aangifte. De politie en de gemeente Amsterdam nemen de zaak serieus en dat is alles wat ik er nu over kan zeggen.
Ondanks dat het incident verschrikkelijk en laf is ben ik blij dat de zaak en het probleem gehoord is door verschillende media, nationaal en internationaal.
Ik weet dat verhalen zoals die van mij en Rikkie niks nieuws is. Dit gebeurd helaas dagelijks op scholen, op het werk, op straat, overal!
Dit gaat over mensenrechten! Wij zijn allemaal mensen van vlees en bloed en dat hoort de basislijn te zijn! Zoals iedereen hebben wij ook het mensenrecht in dit land om te bestaan. Wij hebben het recht om te zijn wie wij zijn, om te houden van wie wij willen houden en om ons veilig te voelen.
Daarom is het zo belangrijk om incidenten zoals deze te melden. Blijf niet stil!
Het zou zo mooi zijn als we ooit op een dag onze verschillen opzij kunnen zetten en elkaar allemaal met respect kunnen behandelen.
Ik wil iedereen bedanken voor jullie lieve berichtjes en voor het tonen van steun 🫶🏼 Dit heeft mij zo goed gedaan en laten inzien dat ik er nu, in tegenstelling tot de bus, er niet alleen voor sta.
Dit laat zien dat we als gemeenschap en als bondgenoten (allies) bij elkaar blijven.
Voor nu ga ik wat tijd voor mezelf nemen om het op mijn manier te verwerken en terug te komen met meer PRIDE dan ooit!
