A very welcome surprise last night when Dave Grohl, Violet and Harper came to our final show in London.
Went to The Ivy restaurant in London’s Soho area today and realised that it’s on the exact spot where I was stabbed in 1975. Happy memories 🙂
It’s been an unusual few months for the Numan’s to be honest. I’ll be explaining everything that’s gone on since February in full on my Ghost Nation (Patreon) updates in the next few weeks. As a brief taster though, Gemma had a mini stroke just before the UK tour, last week they found a significant sized hole in her heart and she had surgery on that on Wednesday. Raven filmed another batch of videos on Friday for her upcoming singles and I’ve had Covid twice (which makes four times in total). But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. @gemma_numan @ravennuman
We are now halfway to Fiji (took this photo before we took off) in what is turning out to be a rather bumpy flight. I think the last time I was near this area of the Pacific I was in my own aeroplane flying round the world, and both engines stopped for a while due to a small problem. I’m hoping things are a tad less scary this time.
Had a much needed visit from my Dad yesterday. Haven’t seen him for quite a while so time with him becomes ever more precious.
It’s been an honour and a privilege to watch the Foo Fighters from side stage at their two London Stadium shows, first on Thursday and again today (Saturday). To see (and hear) 80,000 people so in love with a band, held so skillfully in the palm of Dave Grohl’s hand for every second of the Foo’s three hour set, was something I will never forget. Thanks to Dave, Josh Freese and everyone in the Foo Fighters team for making us so welcome. @foofighters @joshfreese @nicfreese
Today I was walking along Shaftesbury Avenue (yes, we’re STILL in London) trying to see if the guitar shop I was aiming for when I had my underground ghost encounter in 1974 was still there. It was not. But then I remembered that the next street along, Gerrard Street, was where I made the ‘Replicas’ album a few years later, in the cellar of number 19 under what was, at that time, a dentist. I found it 🙂

Fans often commented over the last few months that they didn’t know where I got my energy from for such an intensive tour schedule. The truth is it’s fairly easy for me. The real hard work is done by the crew. They will be loading in and setting up the equipment while I’m still asleep, they will work all day, work during the show itself and then continue to work for several hours afterwards packing everything away again. Be they stage crew, drivers, whatever job they do, they are the unsung heroes of touring, and I’m enormously grateful. So, Dave, David, James, Andy, Derek, Michael, Eric, Zach, Glenn, Richard and Wacker, thank you. I hope to see you all again next year.
