Another season of mindless crime against nature is underway in the #faroeislands under disguise of tradition… High powered jet skis are used, gasoline and diesel powered speed boats, the people in the water mercilessly killing these poor creatures wearing high tech boots and wet suits… Tradition…?! Tradition has nothing to do with this. This is also not about food and necessity like some are trying to present. Let’s just call it what it is; A twisted and deranged blood sport. Don’t forget that these whales are highly intelligent marine mammals with complex social structures and behaviors. And before anyone starts defending and finding reasons for this slaughter let me just say one thing… I’m sure we as a species were not given intelligence to JUSTIFY our SENSELESS deeds but to improve our condition without the slaughter of the innocent. You can’t use culture to hide your bloodlust. Why is it so difficult for the Faroese government to reassess their cultural practices and turn towards sustainable alternatives which would respect the environment and animal welfare…?
