37 years old today! Tested positive for COVID Sunday so a quarantining Bday for me! 🥲(Symptoms are very mild and taking Paxlovid as a safety precaution)
If you’d like to leave me a “gift,” I love words of affirmation 😌 Tell me something you appreciate about me or a way that I’ve added value to your life. 🥰
I felt a little resistant to making that ask, but life is short, we gotta ask for what we want. 🤗
Also want to say ‘thank you’ to everyone who has offered words of support around my dad. It means the world to me. I try not to spend much time on social media because of…ya know, happiness…so even if I don’t respond please know the love is felt and appreciated. 💜
Also, I’ll be celebrating my birthday for as long as I damn well choose. While quarantining on a bday is not my first choice, I am accepting what is and opening to the joy that I can and will feel surrounding my birthday, today and for the next few weeks.
Once I’m out of this quarantine, watch out 😉
Miss these silly billys and the before-times #HTGAWM @ajanaomi_king @romeflynn 💜💖💔
Not *just* people from high school 😅😅😅

Friday was my birthday. 💜 These past five months have been the hardest of my life, by far. The horrors persist but so do I. 😈🥲😫 At some point I’ll share more about it publicly. In the meantime, I’m sending love to all of you as we navigate this incredibly difficult period of human history. May we all love ourselves and each other a little more fiercely, and especially in ways that disrupt state violence. ❤️🔥
1 year ago today, my dad passed away.
I love you dad. I miss you every day. And while my heart will always feel like it’s missing a piece, I am so grateful that I got to be with you for as long as I did. 💜

The left (including myself for a long time) has been incredibly behind on disability justice. Long C😷VID is a social justice and disability justice issue. For those of us who claim to care about intersectionality, this must become a part of our praxis. I know that everyone is exhausted and unhealed from everything that’s happened the past few years, but solidarity is fighting along side eachother, even when it is challenging. As white prople committed to anti-racism, solidarity is not just how you show up for your individual BIPOC friends, but a practice and a value that must permeate every area of your life. It is no different with disability justice. Care work is and can be part of solidarity, but that alone is not enough. Repost @wandering ・・・ “On #LongCovidAwarenessDay, do not turn away from the 200 million of us worldwide living under the burden of systemic ableism from public health & governments trying to push us under the rug. Our numbers are growing everyday and yet after 4 years, no approved treatments or cure exists. Instead, we are muted, unfollowed, and stigmatized for trying to bring awareness and call for help. You don’t treat cancer patients the same way, but somehow it’s morally acceptable to ostracize longhaulers? We are people, not just statistics, and you are not the exception to this virus. This could happen to you on your 3rd or 6th infection. We have dreams, goals, heck—we just want to be able to dance again. The nature of this virus has not changed, only the government’s response has. This is the largest mass-disabling event in history and we ask you to recognize science and your own humanity by doing your part to curb transmission so this doesn’t have to occur to more people—your family, friends, colleagues, your bus driver, the grocery cashier, the 公公 on the skytrain that’s the only one masked—do it for yourself. Do it for me. #ConfrontLongCOVID #mecfs #longcovid “
I love looking at photos of myself as a kid because I’m so expressive. And still, as an adult, this is a trait that I really enjoy seeing when I watch myself as actor. 🤓💗🤩 Are there any traits that you love about yourself from childhood that are still present in adulthood? 💖

“President @joebiden played politics with our planet and our future. Shame on him. And this fight is not over. See you in court @potus.
Press release from the #StopWillow coalition:
“Today the Biden administration approved ConocoPhillips’ Willow project in the western Arctic of Alaska, locking in oil and gas drilling and massive greenhouse gas emissions for decades. The decision undermines Biden’s climate promises and again demonstrates how political and industry interests put “business as usual” before the health of people and the planet.
Authorization of the project comes after a deficient supplemental environmental review process that failed to assess the intense and cumulative impacts of the project on Arctic communities, lands and water, wildlife, and the global climate. The harm to communities and climate will be massive as the project turns into the industrial hub ConocoPhillips has always sought.
Overwhelming public and scientific input has demonstrated that Willow poses a serious threat to the Arctic region. Willow will pollute water and air, disrupt animal migrations, destroy habitat, and result in the release of around 239 million metric tons of greenhouse gasses over the project’s 30-year lifespan. The resulting infrastructure is expected to result in additional development that would magnify Willow’s negative environmental impacts.
If built, Willow will be the largest new oil extraction project on federal lands in the United States. It will have devastating impacts to the entire western Arctic region, posing serious health, environmental, and food security threats to nearby Alaska Native communities.
Today, the Biden administration bowed to industry and political power rather than prioritizing land protections, Indigenous communities, and meaningful climate action and leadership.”

This #BlackMaternalHealthWeek, I’m centering Black birthing people’s autonomy and joy by sharing these stories of resilience and power. Take action with @culturalengagement @momsrising @wetestify by contacting your U.S. Representatives and demanding that they pass the Momnibus Act. Additionally, join them for events this #BlackMaternalHealthWeek such as the IG live on Monday April 17th at 8pm ET with Jewelle T. Those in the NY area can also join the ARIAH Foundation on 4/16 for a night of art, storytelling, and performance at the historic Kings Theatre Brooklyn. As actors, we often feel lucky just to be able to work at all doing what we love in an industry that is so competitive. Sometimes this makes us hesitant to “rock the boat” when we already feel our position is so precarious. But we deserve more! Solidarity is the only way to get there and when we come together we actually have a chance at getting what we deserve! Let’s gooo!!! 🔥
From SAG-AFTRA:
“‘For the first time in a very long time, our member leadership stands in solidarity at the negotiating committee and the National Board levels on moving forward with a strike authorization. We must get all our ducks in a row should the need present itself, said SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher. “The prospect of a strike is not a first option, but a last resort. As my dad always says, ‘Better to have and not need than to need and not have.’…
SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director and Chief Negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland explained, ‘Strike authorization sends an important message during the negotiations process. A ‘yes’ vote gives the National Board the power to call a strike if the AMPTP does not negotiate fairly in our upcoming bargaining. This will be a seminal negotiation that will determine the future of what it means to be a working performer. We must be ready to fight to secure a meaningful deal for our members.’
Earning a living as a professional performer has become increasingly difficult, with both inflation and the streaming ecosystem undercutting compensation — all the while, corporate profits and executive pay at studios continue to rise. Add to this the unregulated use of artificial intelligence and the burdens of the industrywide shift to self-tape, the outlook for working actors becomes unsustainable without transformative change.
A successful strike authorization vote doesn’t initiate a strike. Instead, the strike authorization permits the National Board to declare a strike if the studios and streaming companies fail to negotiate fairly with SAG-AFTRA for the benefit of its members.
Postcards will be sent to eligible members on Thursday, May 18 with instructions on how to vote, and voting will close at 5 p.m. PT on Monday, June 5.”
