Met with representatives from AIIMS Amaravati today. We pursued and brought AIIMS to Amaravati to offer quality healthcare to lakhs of poor people in the region. Built at a cost of Rs. 1618 Crores with Central Govt funds, we ensured speedy completion with work happening day and night during our earlier tenure. I was shocked to learn that the prestigious project was grossly neglected by the previous Govt. Even basic facilities like safe drinking water were not provided leading to severe inconvenience for both patients and staff. Lack of water also hindered the provision of healthcare, as the hospital was unable to operate at full capacity. All this will change now. I have given instructions to my office to come up with a plan to deliver clean drinking water to the hospital as soon as possible. All other issues faced by the hospital will also be resolved immediately.

We are on a mission to rebuild Andhra Pradesh. Given where the previous government had left it, this will be a humongous challenge. Yesterday, I had productive meetings with BPCL and VinFast that could result in large scale investment and job creation. This is a departure from what occurred over the last five years – when politics trumped progress, corruption replaced cooperation and destruction replaced development. Investors had lost confidence and left the State, impacting the economy and employment. Now, it is crucial that we win back the confidence of investors. I thank our media colleagues for reporting on these meetings, spreading hope across the state.
