Andy Warhol could take everyday items from supermarkets, put his name on them, & they became art. I wanted to try & do the same. So I took something that’s out-of-stock around the country; prices have gone up 10x on Amazon; at the centre of public imagination – the face mask. Signed it, then put it in a glass box on a plinth in Kensington. Not only did people look, they stopped and took photos. Admired and discussed it with their friends. It was a hit, making me both an artist AND an idiot. From my Warhol piece in The Guardian [📸 @jake_photo]

2019 Vibe.
2019. A tale of two billboards. Me on one in Moscow in June; my book on one in New York in March. The book went on to become a #1 USA Today/#8 Los Angeles Times/#2 Barnes & Noble bestseller. I, on the other hand, went on to amount to nothing
I’ve locked myself out of my flat & it’s fucking freezing! 🚀🚨
Mad. Find me on the front page of today’s @guardian. I sourced random people at bus stops & streamed them sleeping to 6k of you on my Instagram, blew away people by presenting face masks in glass boxes as art, & gave people on the street their 15 minutes of fame by hiring 30 actors & treating people them like superstars all while living as Andy Warhol for a week. My first written feature in over a year. Thanks to all the amazing volunteers (a lot follow me here) who helped me pull the latter stunt off – couldn’t have done it without you. @hausofdarkwah for bringing his amazing best. And thanks to @jaspe_roscoe for being such a great sport (check his art YT out). Will link in my story or pick it up today. Photos by @jake_photo

This is Mafalda. Yesterday, she replied to a weird ad at a bus stop in the morning. By night, over 6000 of you tuned into her sleeping live on my Instagram. Inside a tent, inside a warehouse. Was it even any good? I have absolutely no idea. But thanks to her for responding to my clip art poster, @kathryn_madge for the space, and you for asking questions like ‘Who is your favourite WWE wrestler?’ or ‘both your star signs?’ at 4am. About half of that is still on my feed if it remotely interests you

Few months ago, I discovered a group named ‘Oobha Butler Fans Australia’. Turns out, they have been making weird memes I don’t really understand about me for a long time. Was enjoying letting weird shit fester, then today one of them got a tattoo of one of the memes & felt it had peaked. Congrats for weirding out a weirdo

Quarantine day 5 vibe. Boredom Anxiety = Eat [📸 @jake_photo in The Guardian]
Happy 2019, everybody. Here’s a screenshot from something new we filmed the other day. This was the year I released a book and (somehow) it became an LA Times/USA Today bestseller (thanks for buying)… taught a new generation the dangers of handling a salmon suspiciously (thanks for watching). Learned that the only pub in my local village I’m not barred from has closed down (thanks for closing). And that I lost my amazing, silly, and dearly missed Uncle Jimmy (thanks for everything, James Black). Thanks for all your support and patience. New stuff out for you soon x [📸 @christopherbethell]
Why am i like this
A while back Japanese TV made an hour long doc about me/my Shed. Beat Takeshi narrated it and millions watched it live, and I trended across Japanese Twitter because they hated me so much. Here’s a funny section about prepping the Shed’s non-food photos. The person they have dubbing @christopherbethell is fantastic
