“This tour is being played in contravention of a number of principles I laid down,” explains Robert to a lively crowd at the beginning the performance. “At one point I cancelled this tour because the way it was being conducted was simply not in accordance with how an intelligent, small, mobile person handles life. But if the tour had been cancelled then an awful lot of people who’d bought tickets would have dipped out. So the compromise was that, for me, this is the end of an era in touring. This is the last time I tour according to other people who I don’t really support their values…”
