There’s nothing better than a great view with a great book. Congratulations, @jaketapper on your newest masterpiece. I can’t wait for everyone to get to read it Tinyurl.com/Amazondemons
For the first time, we take you behind the scenes to see the remarkable planning and chain of events that came together to help save @d.ham3 ‘s life. Once you see this, you won’t ever watch another game the same way:
An exclusive story about baby Denver. She had a rare, potentially life-threatening brain abnormality, and a team at Boston Children’s Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital was able to successfully treat her. The most amazing part: Denver hadn’t even been born yet. Watch this remarkable —first-of-its-kind — procedure.
I’ve interviewed Dr. Fauci countless times over the last two decades covering topics like Anthrax, Ebola, Zika, H1N1, HIV/AIDS, Covid… but I’ve never quite heard him like this – he’s entered a new part of his life after leaving NIAID and has now had time to reflect on his 50 years of service.
There continue to be questions about President Biden’s mental fitness – especially after last week. But detailed cognitive testing could give the American public answers. Read my essay at link in bio
I will never forget the survival story of 8-month-old baby Birce… I met her in the largest trauma hospital in the quake zone. #Turkey
Behind every miraculous story of people being pulled out of the rubble 200 hours later…there is a rescue team that tirelessly worked to find them, never giving up hope that a “miracle” could happen . . . #turkey #turkeyearthquake
Traveling across the world for Chasing Life allowed me to explore how people are living longer, healthier and happier lives. It’s not necessarily about money or medicine, but rather an approach to life that has been overshadowed by modern our world. Watch it now on @streamonmax
While more than 49,000 have died after the earthquake, far more have survived – injured and desperately in need of aid. The problem is many of them are in places which are isolated and hard to reach. That is why the skies are loud with choppers and we tagged along for the ride
This is the most intimidating story I’ve covered over the last 20 years – for the first time, I interviewed my three teenage daughters on a topic they know best: screens and social media. The conversation was magical and necessary. Here’s a sneak peak of the new season of Chasing Life!
Not surprisingly, people who live in blue zones may have had the answer the entire time and now Dr. Gustavo C. Roman is putting this knowledge to the test. (Part 5)
Within hours after the earthquake, remarkable field hospitals were built. And it is quite extraordinary to see what they are capable of providing for the desperately wounded. #samaritanspurse
The hardest time in your life to make friends is when you’re an adult. It’s also the time in your life when those friendships are crucially important. Friendship expert @drmarisagfranco explains why and what you can do about it #chasinglifeCNN 🎧 https://www.cnn.com/audio/podcasts/chasing-life/episodes/74cd72c8-489c-49e6-99ac-b02a0102ef6b
I met Mark and he showed me how he can control his computer just using his thoughts thanks to a brain-computer interface called a Stentrode. Mark has ALS and this could help him maintain independence as he loses mobility. Even as a brain surgeon myself, I have to say that watching it in action is remarkable.
Today, @u.s.surgeongeneral declared gun violence an urgent public health crisis – it’s a reality in our country that was made too vivid for me when I visited Rocklin Elementary school. There, I saw third graders learning something I never would have imagined as a father, a journalist or a trauma surgeon – they are being taught how to pack a gunshot wound, learning how to “stop the bleed.” Sadly, this has become the new “stop, drop and roll” for our children. My little brother @suneelgupta is 10 yrs younger than me! I’m Gen X, he’s a Millennial. In many ways, I was a 3rd parent but now we’re both middle aged. We never discussed it before but decided to have a candid conversation about the myth of the midlife crisis. https://www.cnn.com/audio/podcasts/chasing-life
It took some top-notch disease detective work to track down what Cox believes is the root cause (Part 3)
This is a mystery that only an ethnobotanist like Dr. Cox could solve – it all starts with flying fox bats. (Part 2)
Alabama’s Supreme Court has ruled that embryos are children and anyone discarding frozen embryos could face wrongful death charges. This has completely upended IVF care in the state, leaving many families confused and in limbo. I decided to ask fertility doctor Dr. Eve Feinberg to help explain exactly how IVF works and discuss how much of the ruling was religion vs science. 🎧Link in bio
Through the years @weightwatchers has cultivated a community devoted to tracking points and diet. Will the age of weight loss drugs change it? I ask @sima the company’s CEO. 🎧 at link in bio
One of my personal heroes is @diananyad . I consider her a friend and an inspiration, especially after she swam from Cuba to Florida (110 mi) at the age of 64. So, it was a delight to check in with her 10 years later. 🎧 https://cnn.it/4411kr9
It is projected to become a 100 billion dollar industry… how did we get here? My friend and colleague @meg.tirell explains why the weight-loss drug business is only going to keep growing. 🎧 at link in bio
From Guam back to @brain_chem_labs – here’s how they started testing their theory (Part 4)
We all know that feeling…a sense of worry starts to grow, your mind races, your body is tense – anxiety has taken over. No one likes to feel anxious, but NYU professor @wendy.suzuki says there is such a thing as good anxiety…maybe even necessary anxiety. 🎧 at link in bio to learn why she says anxiety is our most misunderstood emotion
