I just found a little home here in the Bay. Unless you have walked the city, you never really know it to be honest. The sun was just an added reminder that it may get difficult but you got to course through.

And anyone who tried, to deny you must be out of their minds..
Had the privilege to play Anand Mahta, whose circumstances lied in the centre of our country but his soul was more of a free spirited individual who wanted to be an electrical engineer to follow his passion and help to make the financial situation of his family better, but needless to say life had other plans for him and certain circumstances owing to a lacklustre attitude from the authorities led to his father’s death who happened to be a labour working construction day in day out. His mother couldn’t handle the news of his father’s death and she too passed away, making Anand a victim of circumstances, but he didn’t choose to stay quiet, he chose to act upon it. His measures though questionable, but he genuinely spoke out for a vast majority of people who are wronged every single day due to the economic imbalance. Anand didn’t live enough to see the brighter side. Is there a brighter side at all? Thank you @rammadhvani Sir, for letting me essay the role, and your entire team for spoiling me senseless to let me achieve the best that I could with it. Thanks #Dhamaka that I got to play a character which shall always and always stay very very dear to me.

#3yearsOf #BrahmaJanenGoponKommoti Thank you to @windowsproduction family, my director #AritraMukherjee, my super costar @ritabhari_chakraborty, @zinia.sen without whom this wouldn’t be possible, and all the lovely people associated with the film. Last but definitely not the least my dear audience who gave this film so much love. ❤️
Journey to the top of the mountain Part 2, well somewhat of it. I wish I could document the trip instead of standing in for the light. How we often forget the camera when all the good things are about to happen or are happening. Although I did catch some of it. I shall list out this beautiful place called Shimla British Resort, which truly provides you with a warm hug in the chilly mountains. Their hospitality is second to none. The Mall Road is clean as a whistle, the only amount of garbage there, is perhaps due to those lovely looking horses that take you for a ride. They can’t control the roughage that they eat. No I didn’t take that ride, but while it rains they also have their makeshift raincoats, which disturbs their neigh-ing a little. The shops are almost a subtle reminder of no matter where you are in India, bargaining toh banta hai. More coming soon…
Circa 2013. This was that moment beautifully captured by ABC photography where I was playing the character of Abani Shom which was a part of the bengal adaptation of The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui. While crafting this character I remember watching a lot of Adolf Hitler documentaries as the character sort of represents how Hitler could be anybody. Madness is like gravity as they say. Little do you realise that sometimes it is scary going to play a character as you tend to grow an empathy for the person that you play. You cannot and will not judge him. Maybe they had one human moment. Maybe even that was a farce. Maybe we all need to calm down and think about perspectives. I was about a whole of 19 odd years and perhaps didn’t understand the absolute depth of the text, or maybe the rawness is what you needed the most to represent it. Maybe I shall play this character differently if given a chance now. Who knows, life is but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets, well most of you know the rest.

There is that world where the raindrops are sparkling, with rollerblades tied to our feet, and a dreamy red sky where hide and seek found a new meaning.
“It has always been burning since the world’s been turning. No we didn’t light it, but we tried to fight it” Artists were never supposed to be yes-men/ women. There comes a time when we all need to ponder upon the core of our value system, as to what is it that makes us different? Is it our talent to live another soul or is it our art to question every detail of its creation. Once we figure that out, we wouldn’t have to succumb to phrases like “Hey I am apolitical”, “oh I have nothing to say about that”. We may choose our battles, but trust me it is a constant one, and thanks to theatre, I perhaps garnered some courage to ask a few questions that scare us. Happy World Theatre Day
