Just finished our end of the week Fast meeting with the writers and the whole team… to say the excitement for our finale was incredibly powerful is an understatement. Wow. So exciting…
While everyone was heading into the weekend amped and excited, I thought of you all… reminded of the countless moments when your enthusiasm and passion became the driving force behind our creative journey. Your commitment to our saga has had a unique impact on its success and evolution… as my youngest daughter would say, it’s profound.
Thank you for being the backbone of this global saga that because of you, transcends the screen.
This grand finale is not just an ending; it’s a celebration of the incredible family we’ve built together.
Hope to make you proud!
That smile…
The smile of joy, love and light… one that represents the beautiful soul that you are.
Blessed am I to call you my sister, both on screen and off… for more than two decades.
Our brilliant accomplishments couldn’t have been achieved without you…
The moments celebrating new life… or the hard times, when forced to reckon with losing a loved one… life itself has been better, because of you.
That smile… so beautiful, so pure…
I love you… forever!
Happy Birthday Sis…
To our global family, my last words of 2023…
Never give up…
On our planet, humanity… never give up on yourself. We all have a light, one we can share… one in which we can contribute to the world. With faith and compassion we can make the world a better place.
Happy New Year…
All love, always.
Universal just informed me that you all nominated FastX part 1… Best Action Movie and Best Movie of the year…
I immediately was brought back to 2016, and that moment I was doing my best to fight back emotions and remain cool.
I have had the great fortune to make many films and play many iconic characters… but when I go into that Dom state of mind, it’s as though I am simply doing a sketch… of my soul.
You have always been there with me on this journey, your love and support fuels me beyond words.
I only hope to make you proud.
When I think about the amount of directors that have wanted to work with me more than once I am always just humbled. This is a pic of when I went to India as I promised Deepika I would, with the director at the time, DJ Caruso… While we are currently juggling the order of the productions, my oldest daughter read the script that DJ sent to me, thinking that it would fall into the Pacifier bracket. She cried… I asked her why she cried, and she said because the story of a brother and sister rang true for her and it was emotional.
Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em, Mattel’s Follow up to Barbie… Universal’s Kojak, Witch Hunter, Riddick4 and of course the finale to Fast are all fighting for position. Blessed.
If I could make the film work that my daughter cried reading, my question for you would be, who would play my sister… she suggested Jennifer Lawrence. What do you think?
On this exact day 16 years ago… I was pacing in Pablo’s trailer after a long day of filming. When I shared with him the fact that I was hours away from receiving you he gave me that great advice that has made the experience the most beautiful moment in my life.
As I search for today’s words… how to express the pride, the joy…
The light you have brought to the world’s existence. The meaning in which your very soul has illuminated life it self. Blessed and grateful, is the lens I have been fortunate enough to view all things. However, when I distill happiness, joy and love to one singular source it is you, my Alpha Angel. You have opened parts of the heart I never knew where there. Your wisdom, compassion and kindness… your very being proves that no matter how dark the world may seem… light will always triumph. I am so proud of the human you are growing to be. Fatherhood has changed over the millenniums… but what hasn’t changed, is that it is truly the best gift…blessing, a soul can know.
Happy Birthday my angel.
Your proud and grateful father.
Throwback Thursday…
I have been blessed to embody so many iconic characters… some universal, and some that only some of you know.
It was an honor to bring an immortal to the screen for Lionsgate… someday I will explain where my head and heart was and why the character of Kaulder was so significant to me… it was a powerful moment in my life, as many of you know.
Can’t wait until you see where the immortal goes next.
All love, always…
Happy Creative Sunday…

I’m so fortunate… for that I am grateful. Every character I have embodied has added a particular nuance to my perspective of life. When Sidney Lumet asked me to star in his court room drama I was all in…. I didn’t know that was going to have the blessing of meeting the man I was to portray. Jackie DiNorcio… a mobster, but a man with firm ideals and infatigable convictions. I am reminiscing about Sidney Lumet… and a moment in history where the mafia had its purpose… because…
I just received a script!
No, not just any script… Amy Pascal, who I have to mention by name, has just sent me the BEST script in Hollywood. This is the type of script that all of your heroes in the 70s and 80s would have fought for. Haha. Several writers have tried to attack the story of Kojak… always falling a tad bit short. But for some reason, in this crazy world… the script came in as a masterpiece. Wow. I am humbled, speechless. My favorite writer was always Budd Schulberg… but what I just read is… wow!
I will say it again! Cause you all know I am a perfectionist. Haha, to a fault.
The best script in 2024…
Is Kojak!
Hope to make you proud.
All Love, Always.
The living, dead and unborn…
Happy MLK day!
We’ve come a long way…
Take no day for granted…
Stay focused!
And as my biological father used to say…
Stay Human…
Oscar season… is really just a celebration of the arts, giving us something to strive for.
I remember working with Dennis Hopper in a film called Knockaround Guys… his motto was simple… “Create or Die” I imagine most artists can relate…
I think about all the great artists I have had the opportunity to work with, learn from or simply be inspired by. Just recently, I directed a short film with my dear friend Sir Michael Caine… who knows a thing or two about receiving that bald golden statue. What’s so beautiful about him is that the awards pale in comparison to the inspiration he so generously gives… he told me years ago that I would love working with Helen Mirren, and man was he right. Whether she is portraying the Queen, and bringing a sense of empathy to royalty… or Narrating as she did in Barbie… the magic she brings is always palpable. By the way, Barbie was one of the year’s best, what Greta did as a director was groundbreaking. Margo Robbie’s performance was Brilliant!
Michael also had a dinner a few years back with the great Sidney Poitier… who hands down was one of my greatest inspirations as a young actor… sitting next to me was Christopher Nolan. I will never forget Michael introducing me to him… as his son. I was proud. Today I am proud of what he manifested in Oppenheimer… to find drama in these often obscured parts of our human history… wow.
You all know I have a passion for history and film so often serves as the fireplace where tales are told of our never ending past.
I often get asked why I haven’t directed my Hannibal the Conqueror yet, why it’s taken so long… with a smile, I say… patience.
We will find a way, or we will make one.
Life is short…
The people that love, truly love an understand you, are often the only way the memory of you exists…
This picture was taken by a very special friend on our family vacation in Italy… a man who I was blessed to call a brother. A man who raised two amazing young future leaders, Akram and Alejandro…
He was one of those rare friends that only brought joy and optimism , his smile was infectious and his heart pure…
This week, while I mourned the loss of this great soul… Vanessa Bryant invited the family as her guest to the unveiling of our beloved Kobe’s statue. To say the family was moved and inspired is an understatement… Kobe my brother, the smartest thing you ever did was invest your life into that beautiful soul Vanessa, or as the kids call her Mrs B.
Love… and love deeply, for tomorrow is never promised.

Wishing you all a blessed Mother’s Day!
Night run, with glasses. Haha. But my mind works out giant story issues while I’m in the trance of movement. Kojak, Riddick, Dom and the new Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em for Mattel. There is so much to create and a night run only helps that process. Love you loyals…
