This is how you can drive in YOUR OWN CAR and reach the NEPAL- TIBET BORDER!
Our route was Delhi -Lucknow -Pokhara- Kagbeni- Muktinath- Lo Manthang- Korala Border.
You can get your car permit from Sonauli border for INR 800 per day. Keep it safe as it would be checked often.
Additionally you need to get ACAP and TIMS permit from Pokhara / Kathmandu for Lower Mustang. A special Upper Mustang permit a guide is required to reach the border. Only a govt registered trekking company can get you that. You can get in touch with @encampadventures @dalbhatpoweradventures.
It was truly one of my most adventurous trips. Imagine not knowing anything about Mustang district in Nepal, not being able to figure out the route or knowing anything about the condition of the route and just heading out with your car!
