During the Renaissance period it wasn’t merely a dye , it was considered blue gold and it was the color that was extracted from the woad plant which colored the cloth worn by French Kings. I have to say waking up with a Castle outside of your window is pretty surreal! Carcassonne is tucked away in the Occitanie region and dating back 2500 years is one of the best preserved medieval cities in the world. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is a charming as can be! Thank you @hoteldelacite for a beautiful stay!
