I am absolutely terrified to live in a world where we can allow the murdering of innocent children. These are our brothers and sisters. It is so dangerous to allow one government (funded by others) to do this under international law and get away with it. This sends a frightening global message that anyone can do the same. This is an attack on all human life. We must organize. We each have a skill to bring to the table of change.
Elio crawled and played in the sand all afternoon. The wonder of sand between his toes and fingers was the cutest thing to watch 🩵 Thank you Ocean, we love you!
As you know one of my deepest loves is the ocean. We even named our son Elio Ocean. It takes up 71% of our planet. It is believed we originated from the ocean! We are 60% water. It provides over half of the air we breathe. It regulates our climate and sequesters carbon. Truly an endless source of life! But only 3% of our oceans are protected from potentially damaging human interaction. It is so vital that we work towards protecting at least 30% of our ocean with marine protected areas. We must let the ocean regenerate and respect all that it does for life on Earth 🩵 #WorldOceansDay

A beautiful hour playing in the sand followed by an unexpected cold dip in the ocean after Elio pooped all over our beach towel as I let him be diaper free. I wouldn’t have my day any other way!

Little precious moments with my best friend 🥹 I’m currently on day 2 of 8 of a work trip without him and I’m actually missing all the challenging moments of parenting like night wakings and resisting bedtime. Knowing it doesn’t last forever and these are truly the days. Sat in an airport looking through the thousands of photos and videos of Elio. Grateful for Andrew who is at home being the best papa to him ❤️ annnd for growing us the most beautiful garden. Full garden tour coming Monday!
Happy World Environment day from my future steward and I 🌍✨

No child should have to fight for their own future 💔🌍 These children’s beautiful drawings and paintings from @parentsforfutureuk were recently delivered to Norwegian oil giant Equinor, calling on them to stop the development of the controversial Rosebank oil field. Rosebank is the biggest undeveloped oil field in the UK, and is completely incompatible with climate targets. The CO2 from burning the fossil fuels in just this one field would be equal to the annual emissions of the 28 lowest-income countries in the Global South combined. Rosebank is also situated right next to a marine protected area. Construction of the field, as well as potential oil spills, could have devastating impacts on the endangered and threatened species that call that area home. Approving new fields like Rosebank only makes us more dependent on expensive, polluting oil and gas for longer, when we can and should be rapidly switching to clean affordable energy. Despite warnings from climate scientists and experts, Rosebank was approved by the UK last September, but it’s not over. We can still #StopRosebank. Billy Blue is 6 today 🩵 It was once just you and me Bill. Now we’re a house of 9. Thank you for stretching my heart to be big enough for everyone in our family. You’ll always be my first kid. Love you
@nallelicobo is an incredible environmental activist and storyteller. Nalleli’s own life has been impacted by urban oil drilling and I am grateful she is with us today to share her story and why she passionately advocates for this issue. Oil drilling impacts all of us, we must collectively stand up to defend our right to health and safety, today and now.
We’re back with Nalleli Cobo (@nallelicobo) to talk about the health and environmental impacts of urban oil drilling and how we can take direct action to fight against it in this coming November election. California voters need to vote to keep an existing law to protect our health and safety. In 2022, CA Governor Newsom signed and implemented SB 1137 which is a 3,200-foot health and safety buffer zone between oil extraction and sensitive land. This November, vote to KEEP SB 1137. The Big Oil industry is willing to spend $200 million on this campaign, but we are going to take the ballots and show big oil that they have no place in our backyards, our democracy, or in our future. IF the fossil fuel industry wins, which they WON’T. They will continue drilling in the buffer zone, damaging innocent lives. Big oil continuously prioritizes profit over people, we must collectively stand up against their greed and moral corruption. Go to cavsbigoil.com to learn more. @cavsbigoil VOTE TO KEEP SB 1137 THIS NOVEMBER.
