Almost 20 years between these two images. 37 years old in the first, in the second photo I was just 18. @si_swimsuit has given me so much.
Fun fact: the SI swimsuit issue, since the very beginning in 1964 has always been edited by a woman. Casting, locations, styling, all of it selected by women, and I think that’s a big reason why we remember issues, models, images— it’s about so much more than just a face or body: it’s about who she is, where she’s from, what she’s doing with her life, what story she wants to tell. 60 years of story telling. What an absolute triumph.

60th Anniversary of @si_swimsuit is hereeeee! I was worried that I had forgotten how to model, that I had spent too much time out of the game, but the second I saw these women, @mj_day and @yutsai88 I felt at ease. It was like coming home.
I will forever be indebted to the brand that gave me my first big break. Sports Illustrated Swimsuit doesn’t get nearly enough credit for how ahead of its time they were. They published our names with our photos and did profiles on each model, which was HUGE in a time before social media when most models were powerless, nameless and voiceless. They invested in us and supported us – SI gave me my first online series which led me to my first tv pilot and my agent. They were body positive in a way that NO ONE else was, and when other companies were duct taping my boobs down to make me look thinner, they would say “you’re perfect just how you are!” They have continued to look inward and ask themselves “how can we better represent MORE people, how can we use our influence for good?”
Thank you to the team that started it all for me, for so many of us, and a HUGE congratulations on 60 years. ❤️

Signs of summer: 1. Kids = Koalas 2. Mama D’s Shishitos (my favorite thing we grow.) 3. Buddy reunions 4. Drunken summer concerts 5. Steamy Southern windows. 6. Black bears, bobcats and snakes, oh my.
